The onus isn't on Mo here. If the Jets don't extend the franchise tag he becomes a free agent. It's not like he has to negotiate with the Jets or he's screwed. If the Jets don't tag him he's going on the market and then the odds on him coming back to the Jets are very low. Unless they tag him somebody will offer him a deal the Jets don't want to compete with. He's got a 32 team market, not a 1 team market plus tag. Unless the Jets extend the tag in which case they are committing the approx $16M to him for next year without knowing if he can play or not. He might choose not to sign the tag but if he's got a break I'm guessing he signs it and he misses out on free agency and the Jets don't know what they're getting for 12% of the cap next year.

I guess I can direct my focus to getting smashed by surf on the North Shore now....... hopefully they continue to move in the right direction and make a youthful fix of the glaring weaknesses. Salas isn't horrible and shows up every now and then. I still don't understand why he hasn't become a fixture at the bottom of somebodies receiver core.
