Have to say, it's becoming very hard to root for this guy. I'm not saying we should cut him, (because financially we can't) but this is something we should look at when the time comes. Can't justify paying the guy 14 million a year when you play constant zone coverage / soft coverage.

While he is clearly on the back 9 of his career, he still is easily in the top 7 or so CBS in the league. That is nothing to sniff at...

Figure we don't have a franchise QB on the roster. The Jets can live with his contract for a while, and by the time it become an issue (hopefully) he'll be mostly paid off or taking a paycut to play FS.

Cut out of the locker room before talking to the press. Nice job Revi$.

He's fine if used properly--IMO, should have had him 1:1 with WR2 and doubled Watkins with CB2 and either CB3 or FS1

If he can't cover without safety help, that salary is severely bloated

The play that really made me realize how far Revis has dropped from what he was...

The play Watkins made a play on Revis where Watkins bobbles the ball and Revis was just jogging along casually until he actually caught it, then Revis decided to sprint.

He could've gave full effort on that play, hit Watkins, and probably would've been a non-catch.

    So much BS.

I really didn't see Revis getting burnt, I saw a defensive game plan that had him playing way too far off his man to do anything. It's hard to prevent a short pass when the coach keeps calling Prevent.

Tough game for him today, he clearly has issues these days with young, fast WRs like Hopkins and Watkins. He is still a solid #1 CB going forward, just not dominant like before.

Good thing we paid him all that money, we could have not made the playoffs without him. :(

So what you are really saying is he is useless as a 15M CB, yeah we know that.

Fits, Marshall did pressers after the game. This guy is a selfish mercenary, nothing more. He never was and never will be a leader. He continually disappoints as a person and now as a player.

There isn't a corner in the league that can consistently shut down elite receivers 1v1. For any time in their career, even the best of the best usually only have a season or two at most where they pull that off, when they have that perfect blend of physicality and savviness and the football gods bless them with the right 1v1 matchups. The "shutdown corner" is largely a myth. You'll get one season like that, maybe two. This has only become more true as the NFL has shifted to a rule-set that favors passing offenses.

Revis is still a top corner in the league. But defending true #1 wideouts in the NFL today requires safety help unless you've got 2009 Revis in coverage.

He's still a massive upgrade over anyone else on this team we have doing coverage work, period.

I'm just glad he signed a friendly contract, and that we didn't drastically over pay like giving him 70mil, 45 guaranteed, the most ridiculously stupid contract thrown out there, leave it to the Jets.

Don't worry Mevi$ will gladly restructure to help the team

Revis left before facing the press? Is this what you expect from a veteran, who supposedly is one of the top D players on the team? Not a good role model for some of the young guys...
