I'm not even going to waste my time blaming Thompkins. The blame for today, first and foremost, lies with Todd Bowles and Chain Gailey. This team wasn't prepared to play.
For a second, it looked like magic. But, the safety made a good play and Thompkins isn't a guy who makes that play. He's a journeyman 4th WR for a reason. Interestingly enough, our qb had been a journeyman backup for a reason and that reality reared its ugly head today.
obviously there is enough blame to go around multiple times over, and it should have never come down to this, but thompkins has to make that play. ball is on his hands, he is gripping the ball, he needs to hang on to it.
Even Marshall has gotten balls knocked out of his hands by DBs this season. The DB made a good play on the ball. That's it. Fitz should have played better overall and scored more points.
It was just the final disaster of a lot of disasters. They didn't deserve that finish anyway, that would have been Baltimore-Denver 2012 playoffs type of a miracle.
One thing of concern for ALL The WRs this season has been the number of drops. That was a tough catch, but the Enunwa drops really hurt given the space he had on them. There just seem to be a bunch of small things in all phases of the game that prevent the team from getting over the hump. Drops for WRs, no run game if 1 of our RBs is injured, 3rd down D and not doubling obvious players, SPECIAL TEAMS (not a small thing).
Would have been an unbelievable play if he held onto that and ran it for a TD. The DB made a heck of a play. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There were plenty of Jets who equally share the blame for the loss today. That said, Thompkins, Enunwa, Bullock, Quigley, Davis, and Davis should not be on the roster in '16
Give me a break. That was a tough play. I wish he made it because we would have won, but it was tough either way
what about the 2 WR we have on the team who had a shot to catch it? should have drawn that up for them.
