He has forced so many sacks by doing that, he's shutting down the inside the way he's roaming there. No QB ever tucks the ball in and gets yards on the ground against us because of Mo. Whenever somebody wants to tuck the ball in they see Mo and then they freeze, suddenly you have Sheldon, Leonard or Mauldin pick up a sack instead even though Mo made that play. I can't imagine not having him here next season.
Little bit of pass defense. Gronk matched up with Cro outside 1 on 1. Hard to cover a guy like that on the sideline unless Brady severely underthrows him. Blown coverage right here. Not sure who to blame this one for. Nice PA pass, Demario (or Harris) is biting and Gronk is wide open in the middle for an easy 1st down.
Watch the gif. The WR did a great FAKE to the outside that Harris bit on followed by a quick juke to the middle. A perfect example of why it's really hard for a 260lb LBer to cover a fast/shifty 180lb WR.
We ran that Marshall play with Decker for an easy touchdown against the Cowboys just the week before. I was actually really nervous because I knew the play as soon as when Marshall went into motion, and I figured that a Belichick coached defense wouldn't get burned by an identical red zone play to one they had seen on tape just last week. Now that we've run it inside the 5 in back to back weeks, you figure that we're eventually going to set something else up with it. Say, we're down near the goal line and we motion Marshall/Decker across the formation, and snap the ball before he's set. This time, instead of running a flat/out, he runs a dig, gesturing outside before cutting back in, hoping that the defender is fooled by his own film study.
Demario struggling in coverage again. Gives the RB too much room on the first one. Instead of mirroring him he sort of drops back in zone coverage, trying to read Brady's eyes. On that second one he's matched up with the same RB outside in man with a lot of cushion. Takes a bad angle, gives the back too much room inside, easy first down.
Great blocking by the O-Line. Especially the left side with Brick, Carpenter & Mangold. Also notice Enunwa taking out Chandler Jones, he's making a lot of progress. Good block here by Mangold again, allowing Fitzpatrick to step up and rush for a few yards. Impressive cutblock by Mangold, takes out the ILB. Allows Ridley to get a few more extra yards.
I did. It didn't look like much of a fake to me. Still, your point stands about a slow LB trying to cover a shifty WR.
Gameday. Thanks for staying patient. I'll drop the final 5-10 GIFs now and then it's on to Rex and the Bills. Week blew right by. Couple of Bilal runs. Does his best Ivory impersonation on the first one. Who knew he had a truck stick? Winters does a nice job getting to the 2nd level to take out the LB, Powell just stays patient and follows him. "Bowles" right over the Pats defender. Catch me if you can. Nice screen to Bilal, he's become dangerous in the open field. Hard to get your hands on him if he's got some space.
Quincy with his 2 clutch plays. Notice how it's the EXACT same playcall. Same play, same formation, same exact routes by the rest (Marshall with an outside slant). Catches the ball out of the backfield almost, with his hands, the rest is all him. Running guys over, breaking tackles, running from guys, getting yards after the catch. He's become an x Factor in our offense, along with Powell. You can't cover Marshall, Decker, Powell and Enunwa at the same time.
The game winner to Decker from 2 different angles. Perfect touch pass, great route by Decker, flat out beats Butler 1 on 1.
Leonard Williams & Erin stuffing the run. It's crazy how stout Leonard already is at the point of attack, and he's only 21 years old. Still growing and learning. Leonard toying with Gronk. David Harris crashed the party with a nice hit in the backfield. Marcus Williams with a beautiful tackle for no gain. Nasty attitude, looks like Buster Skrine there.
Nice adjustments made by Marshall on that underthrown TD pass. Looked like Fitz did that on purpose. Sad, sad, Quigley punt. Just sad. Watch Skrine sniff out the screen pass. Receiver runs a route instead and catches the ball despite great coverage by Skrine.
Winters and Mangold wrap things up for this week with a couple of great blocks. Mo' with his trademark move, shooting the gap and once he's got his hand in there it's too late to pick him up. Trevor Pryce was a master at this in his prime. That's it. Any more GIFs and this thread might actually blow up.
