I make shrimp stock with the shells and freeze it. I always have about a quart of it in the freezer. Is great in paella and jambalaya. _
Why? There are already some basic requirements regarding post count in order to be able to create a thread. They are quite sufficient. Posters should be free to create posts and state their opinions regardless of how stupid others may think their threads, posts or opinions. I will vociferously defend their rights to do so. You have the right to read or not read their posts/threads, to agree/disagree as you see fit, but you don't have the right to call for other posters to not be able to create threads. That's going too far. You're better than this. You're a knowledgeable fan and poster. Not everyone has the same knowledge or experience you do. How else are they going to learn if they don't ask questions and state their opinions and see how others respond? I'm asking you to allow the moderators to do their jobs and not try to be a censor/moderator yourself.
Sounds good Hypothetical: I guess you use the heads also? I just started to make stock from certain fish. I don't simmer for long tho
No it isn't. Just because they missed an opportunity, doesn't mean that things are the same. Did it ever occur to you that the team has pretty much overachieved this season, and if they lose, that they're just playing closer to the level of the talent and ability of some of the players on the team? There's a lot to be excited about and hopeful for in the coming seasons. We have a great HC and some excellent talent, but there are probably some players other than Coples who don't care about playing the best they can or winning. They just want to live the life and draw their paychecks.
I will be watching a meaningful Jets game on January 3rd. That in and of itself means that the season was not a waste. Watching football is entertainment, if you get 16 weeks of that out of your team isn't that ultimately the definition of a successful "season". The postseason, hence the prefix post - meaning after season is a different entity. If the post season is all that matters to you, then don't bother watching the games until the playoffs if the team your supporting makes it. Or if you want to be a bigger turd, like some of the posters on this forum then don't bother watching until they make the Super Bowl - because they will say that is all that matters.
I would if the shrimp I bought had heads but I rarely see them head on. Yeah I've never made fish stock. I cook the shit out of shrimp shells or lobster bodies. I use lobster stock to make Lobstertini's. Martini's with essence of lobster instead of olives or cocktail onions. Put a claw on the glass. Saw it in on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in a place up in Salem Mass called The Lobster Shanty. We went to the restaurant a few years ago and they were delicious so I make them every summer. There's a video on YouTube with the recipe if you're interested. _
Hypothethethetically that would suck, but not enough to taint the entire season. It's been one of the most enjoyable years in recent memory.
Wow, that Martini is pretty cool. Kinda artful. I like it. I'm inclined to bother with shrimp now with the stock idea. I have chicken stock going right now. Love stock more and more now, especially when the weather turns bad
100% Last year was drudgery. Going to the games sucked. Watching the games sucked. I DVR every game and I rarely rewatched games. This year has been 100% entertainment and I actually enjoy watching games again. It's just entertainment, like a TV series. This year is True Detective Season 1. Last year was True Detective Season 2. _
Check out the YouTube video. The next stock I want to try to tackle is veal stock. So many good recipes use it. _
I actually have some venison bones I'm going to try next. Love making stock with meaty bones. If I have uncooked bones with meat I cook them in the oven for short while first. The best is marrow bones....wow
Starting out 8-0, then losing the last 8 games would be SOJ. This is a 10 win team that most expected to win 8 games. It's a season to build on, not one to complain about.
Colossal failure is what happened to the Patriots when they lost an undefeated season and the SB in their last game. I'm of the opinion that if the Jets lose on Sunday the season will be a failure. Most teams don't start the season with the goal of maybe we can do a little better this year, unless they are going through a major rebuild. There where many good things this year, but we have reached a point that has surpassed satisfactory. At some point the franchise has to turn that corner and seize these opportunities and take the next step if they want to be considered a top of the line franchise and Sunday is one of those moments. I'm going to be happy with the season either way, but we finally have the pieces in place and this is a great opportunity to build on the momentum the organization has going.
If you truly think that the season will be a failure if we lose on Sunday, then how can you be happy with the season? That's contradictory. If you're truly happy with the season, then the season can't be a failure if they lose on Sunday. It will be disappointing and frustrating that they lost and weren't able to capitalize on the opportunity, but imo, it would be silly to call the season a failure. A six game turnaround doesn't constitute a failure. Finding out that we have a quality HC and that we now have an offense we can be happy with, and even proud of doesn't constitute a failure.
