I think he sticks cuz of his draft status. Injuries have derailed him Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
I think those days are over. Ask Coples about that. He was a Mac pick so the question becomes, will Mac be so quick to pull the trigger on one of HIS guys. In addition to that, Smith just wasn't strong enough to do battle with the more powerful CB's and Safeties in the NFL. That being said, his road back will have to pass thru the weight room.
Me too. I don't wanna see the kid fail, but he was "light" for 199lbs. Seems he was always getting pushed off his position by CB's who are cut like LB's but almost as fast as he is. Very rarely did he get true seperation.
His family should be making sure he doesn't play football ever again, heck if they cared they should've taken him to see that movie.
Agreed. We have a couple of nice young guys, but you need to go after that "alpha" receiver to groom under Marshall/Decker. I don't think we have any developing guys in that #1 mold on the roster currently. You can find them in the middle rounds these days we just need to hit on one. Let him take those second and third team reps with Petty while learning from the vets.
I have to admit if you would have asked me 3 weeks ago if we needed a third receiver I would have said yes and that Enunwa wasn't the answer. The last two weeks though he has changed my mind. Seems like guys are stepping up everywhere to compliment Marshall and Decker. Also I didn't realize the type of speed and what a beast this guy can be once he has the ball. The jets need to find a way to get Enunwa in open space more often.
Agree, he has come a long way. Blocks great, is running crisper routes and is catching more balls...he is also become more of a student of the position and accepting his role. His confidence is getting better and to boot that guy is a lot faster then I ever thought.... a keeper Tow other comments... smith needs to learn how to run routes better. As for Mr K is a goner
The Jets have been trying to find another option in the passing game all season. They tried to get Cumberland and Bohanon (!?) more involved at one point and they also started forcing it to Smith mostly to no avail. Enunwa, Powell and to a degree Thompkins have emerged from that effort. Hopefully those guys can keep it up. Fitz's recent hot streak has coincided with all of this.
Enunwa is a beast physically but he came out of Nebraska where he was a blocker first then a WR. He needed (and still needs) time to work on his craft. I think he has been helped tremendously by having guys like Marshall and Decker there to help him along. I also think he was helped by being used as a TE-lite in the offense, which got him on the field using his strength, blocking, while easing him into a receiving role. Looking forward to continued growth from Enunwa.
What happened to Thompkins ? He got carted but have not seen an update,,,if there is a thread on this my apologies . he was showing up on game day ,,,,?
