The man is Mac and he started a Mac Attack of moves that have changed our franchise around in year 1 at the helm. But it began with him spear heading with confidence the signing of our new Head Coach, Todd Bowles and bringing on board OC Chan Gailey. He changed the front office/personnel department. Fired all scouts (GTFO Terry Bradway) and director of Pro Personnel. Then it went from there... Trade a sixth rounder for Fitzmagic Trade a fifth rounder for Brandon Marshall Sign back Darrelle Revis Sign back Antonio Cromartie Sign Buster Skrine Sign Marcus Gilchrist Sign James Carpenter Resign David Harris Resign Bilal Powell Resign Tanner Purdum Draft Leonard Williams Draft Lorenzo Mauldin Putting a tender on RFA Damian Harrison so we had him in 2015 **Most importantly he has established a level of cap flexibility in the coming years even with all these moves. Thank you Mike Maccagnan. P.S. - Quick shout out to Woody Johnson, Charlie Casserly, and Ron Wolf for getting this Big Mac hiring done.
Forgot that was a thing, but yeah, I cant think of any other candidate. Its not just the Marshall and Fitzpatrick trades, or signing Revis and Cro or even drafting Leo. Its all that plus acquiring a very good Guard and Safety rounding out the RB and LB corps with a couple decent signings, and even bringing in an overachieving WR like Thompkins mid-season. who else has done such a good job at keeping their team in the thick of it with solid move after solid move? I honestly cant think of one bad move he's made so far… maybe not getting a KR?...
I was tempted to start a Mac appreciation thread but never could I compete with those graphics Poe lmao Guy is great never taking his foot off the gas to help us I think you need a Second after AFC championship Third after SB
After the past few seasons his moves have been a breath of fresh air... for as bad as Idzik has been he has been just as good times 3
The Marshall move was great. He looked a bit over the hill in Chicago but now looks like he hasn't lost a step at all with the Jets.
We get 101 Catches 1,376 yards 13 TDs 7th round pick Chicago gets 5th round pick (Adrian Amos FS) Sure, I'll take it
Could be. I remember thinking when the Jets signed him that he lost a step and was purely a possession type receiver who could only run slants and short routes, but he's been able to get downfield for some big gains this year.
Skins GM deserves consideration but if we make the playoffs and win a game, Macc has it locked up (assuming the Skins don't win).
For the long-term health of the franchise I'll wager some day we'll look back at Mac cleaning house in the scouting department as his most important achievement.
He was banged up the whole season last year. Only played in 13 games and played in a couple of those dinged up.
He doesn't actually get a ton of separation downfield but he uses his size and strength well to muscle the ball away.
He was. He punctured his lung early in week 14 against the Cowboys and went on to miss the final 3 games of the season after that.
