What a disgrace the US Army is. Poor leadership drove this guy to the brink and we are now proceeding with a court martial? The guy survived 5 years with the taliban!
Poor leadership didn't drive anything other than his preference to abandon his post. He made a choice. A cowardly choice. You don't get that luxury to just walk away from your duty because you don't like your leadership and doing so doesn't make you a hero.
Throw in the lives lost looking for the guy, he's lucky he isn't being charged for some other crimes on top of the court martial. I still will never understand giving up the 5 terrorists we did to get this 1 guy back.
They should have left him where he was to rot in some Taliban mud hut. The 6 soldiers that lost their lives looking for him should not have had to die looking for this scum bag. I hope he get life in prison only since death penalty is not an option. Edit: And can someone revoke this morons thread making privileges, or better yet send jetfannerd to the Taliban.
The only good thing about the berghdal story, is knowing he got ass raped repeatedly by a bunch of filthy savages.
Let no one without military experience pass judgement on Bergdahl and what may have led him to do what he did.
Bullshit. There's nothing that happened to him, that didn't happen to the other 1000 soldiers in his unit... except maybe his fucked up parents that produced the peice of shit. He's no different than the millions of other spoiled, over pampered dipshit mommas boys we have to deal with. If it wasn't for the Taliban, we'd be dealing with this ass hole after another mass shooting somewhere. Fuck him.
Try service in the armed forces before posting stupid shit like this. As a Vet, I hope they burn this guy. 20 years in Leavenworth sounds about right to me.
A firing squad would be more appropriate... or give the fucker back to the taliban, maybe isis could make a new video with him.
You are just another one of many that is too fucking stupid to look at the evidence yourself and come to your own conclusion. Instead you listen to and read from entertainers, not news people because they for the most part do not exist anymore. Even they give you a little clue, right in the opening sentence of Serial Podcasts summary of their first show they say "In the middle of the night, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl grabs a notebook, snacks, water, some cash. Then he quietly slips off a remote U.S. Army outpost in eastern Afghanistan and into the dark, open desert." Fucking desertion in plain English.
