I think Odell bitcham should also have to sit through that bombfest to be, "Concussion". The fresh prince hasn't made a good movie in a decade. If however, Bitcham had done this to Tom Brady as the teams were shaking hands after the game earlier this season, I would have no problem with his actions at all.
It seems like there's a high probability that some vile thing were said to Beckham regarding his sexuality. If so he still shouldn't have had a carte blanche reaction. Maybe it's a case of easier said than done. If true my stance on him softens up a little, but still had to be suspended. The NFL should investigate and if they find anyone guilty of throwing out homophobic rhetoric said person should have some consequences.
Here's what I don't understand. Calling Beckham gay justifies his reaction? If he's not gay, isn't Beckham's behavior a severe over-reaction, that would be a criminal act if performed off a football field? And if he is gay, wouldn't it have been better retribution just to burn them with your performance. As far as the baseball bat stuff is concerned, it's stupid, moronic and immature on the part of the Panthers, but unless Norman hit Beckham over the head with the bat immediately before Beckham hit him in the head with his helmet, then the bat can't logically be justification, excuse, reason or explanation for Beckham's actions.
There's no justification to Beckham reaction, I guess I'm just equating homophobic slurs to racial slurs. In how the person would deal with that, and how the league would deal with that.

Trash talk is a part of the game. At this level the skill set is so close everything counts to get a slight edge. Norman's trash talk is a part of his job. He obviously found the right button to push, good for him. OBJ is not the first nor the last to be called names. It happens all the time, every game. 99.99% can handle it. Beckham's tantrum is testament that he is an immature entitled baby.
