Todd Bowles has become the 6th straight Jets coach to win at least 9 games in his first season. Am I wrong to think he is any different than the last 5?
How can he have won 9 games? He's lost the locker room. He's terrible. He doesn't care about STs. Seriously, no you aren't wrong, at least imo. He is definitely different from the cliche machine Herm, the blowhard Rex, the "mangenious", and Groh.
One thing about an even-keeled guy who doesn't talk much: his schtick won't get old. Herm got annoying. Mangini was always annoying. Rex-- loved him, but GOD did he get annoying. Parcells was annoying concerning his commitment to staying with the team and RE: all things NFL Draft. Groh didn't get annoying, he just got gone (your opinion may vary).
yes. He is the first serious, non-narcisistic, not-delusional coach we have had since Mangini, who, despite all his flaws, was unnecessarily let go early in order to sell tickets and hot air.
It really is incredible that we can have so many coaches have this amount of success at the start and yet never win the big one
Heh. I'm hittin the hay. Had abt 9 phr's this evening. And it's just you, me, and Jonathan Vilma jerkin each other off right now. probs to you, you're cool, but that guy is a bully, he needs to get suspended for the year or something.
Let's put the nine wins by Bowles in perspective. Prior to this one, the Jets have had four consecutive tumultuous, drama filled non-winning seasons. Add to that, this season started off on an ominous note with 'The Punch'. All in all, Bowles has done a fine job of taking charge and steering the team in the right direction by having them in competition for a playoff spot this late in the season. If Rex was still in charge, this team would have imploded after the Philly loss in Week 3.
I want to think that Bowles is for real. I like his demeanor. Im glad they're winning because when they went 1-4, his style was not getting a lot of love.
I hope he's different of course and there's plenty to suggest he is. Can we just enjoy the season and not doom & gloom over the past? We have plenty of time to debate this in circles and without resolution in the offseason
That's not possible man. This isn't a Jets forum unless you have posters constantly bitching about the past or finding every which way to spin a current event to fit their fucked up viewpoint
