Robert Kraft: You know what your problem is, pussycat? Riki Lander: What is my problem, Bob? Kraft: You got nothing to do with your life, man. Why don't you get a job? Do something, be a nurse. Work with blind kids, lepurs, that kind of thing. Anything beats you waiting around all day, waiting for me to fuck you, I'll tell you that. Lander: Don't toot your horn, honey, you're not that good. Kraft: Oh yeah? Gronk was better huh? Lander: You're an asshole. Kraft: Where are you going? COME HERE! Cuñto, HEY! RIKI! I was kidding...I WAS ONLY KIDDING!
We agree that Geno was misused and mistreated. I understand your not wanting to rehash the arguments about him. He may never have developed into a quality starting QB, but I think whatever chances he once had have been greatly diminished. He never should have played his first season, and maybe not the second. He needed a QB Coach, OC and HC who understand young players and have a track record of developing young QBs. He still may not have had what it takes mentally, but at least he would have had a real shot. NYC was probably also the worst possible place he could play. I said Miles is laughable because you made it sound like the D started playing great since he was on the team, and that just isn't true. If I'm not mistaken, he was on the PS most, if not all, of last season, and the only reason he's on the squad now is because of injuries. Bowles likes him and thinks he has potential, but said that Miles was not ready, that he needed to learn and develop more. That's why I said it was laughable. I like the kid and am rooting for him. He has played better than expected and did have that big interception. I think he has pretty good instincts, and is a good tackler, but he's too slow to ever be a starter and true impact player imo. Chan may not have used TEs in the past, but he's not stupid. If the Jets had a Gronk type on the roster, he'd find a way to use him and take advantage of mismatches. Having a good two-way TE, can help open up the offense even more, and make it even more dynamic. IMO the guys we currently have at the position are awful. Cumby has to go. Amaro gets one more TC to prove he can stay healthy, block and play effectively. The other TE (whose name escapes me at the moment) can block, but is no threat to receive the ball. A two-way TE gives the D one more thing to think about. I was really rooting for McDougle this year, but based on the few times I've seen them play and the accounts I've read, I'm not sure that too many people would agree with you about McDougle. We need him to develop into a quality player, but I'm just not sure he will. Maybe it's the fact that Idzik drafted him, or the haters that don't like him have poisoned my thinking towards him, but I don't have that much hope for him any more. I'd love to be proven wrong.
how can you assume they will pan out. your highest investments if you are not spending money I.E. your high draft picks must pay dividends, his did not and are having a hard time seeing the field with a completely different staff. Milner, Mcdougle anyone two guys that can not see the field 1 a top ten pick?Need I mention Geno the living turn over? Those "hidden gems" are back up players at best where is sudfield again? Oday was decent but was cut for some reason? Really maybe because he could not play......I am not sorry idzick was fired because he did a crap job not for any other reason. last yr we fielded a team of players where half should not have been i the NFL. That was not the coaches fault that was the GM's fault He sucked, the way he tried to implement his plan sucked. I for one am glad he was fired to bad it was not done after one year because he pissed away most of one draft. He turned this team into a laughing stock last yr with his management How you or anyone can continue to defend him baffles me.
But Mac brought in other players to augment his draft something that Idzick did not do. Idzick did bring in Ivory so I give him credit for that.
I'm not assuming they will pan out I'm saying that at this time it is too soon to judge them. That's the crux of my point. Idzik would've eventually had to spend the money anyway but during the time he was here he tried to rebuild. You can't try a small market approach in NY the fans and media don't have the patience for it. And that was ultimately his mistake and he thought they wouldn't fire him that quickly.
