You should just make a new thread for spoilers, with debate about what will happen next. That way you don't have to worry about pissing people off.
I saw it in 3D and there were some cool moments. It was not made to be 3D specifically though, so I agree, 2D would suffice. 3D is not bad though.
I've been reading reviews and they sound good overall. This movie has really given me A NEW HOPE for this franchise.
Yes. The dog fighting in general, is especially good. I saw in 3D...JJ killed the aerial battles. I liked it, felt a bit rushed through points at times. Well done overall. I rank this one below all the originals, but in front of all the 'new' ones.
The leaked script i saw was on point. The script described feelings that make certain scenes make much more sense and there was content that was cut down, but you can still see where the dynamics was present. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
95% on RT, probably will be #1 film of all time at the box office. Am I wrong in assuming this will get nominated for Best Picture? If Avatar can then sure as hell this can.
Not a chance. Avatar was revolutionary, this is just be popular. RT isn't a judge of how great it is. Just a scale of how it is enjoyed. If The Dark Knight can't get a nomination I doubt this will. Even the extremely positive reviews mention the plot and depth are paper thin. This movie is widely enjoyed but it isn't being critically applauded the way films need to be for a nomination.
Empire is one of the first three. The prequels are the second set of three movies, regardless of their chronology to the story, and should never be ascended ahead of the original films in any context.
Does anyone even remember what film won that year and does that film remain as relevant and as applauded today as TDK? Of course not. The only negative thing anyone can say about TDK is that it is so great that it deluded Christopher Nolan into thinking that instead of it hitting the perfect amount of drama an audience would be interested in with comic characters that he can make the sequel even more dramatic and it would be an even greater exercise of his creative brilliance. It wasn't.
Truth, Why is the 1st one so much better exactly? Were you a kid when it came out, so you have that nostalgia feeling? Was the story just so much more in depth in your opinion? I only ask because I know hardly a thing about the franchise in general, but have been considering trying to dig into it.
Star Wars is an adventure movie. Light plot and fun heroics. Empire then takes the characters and concepts introduced in that movie and expands upon them, while crafting a darker story with much more depth to the drama and characters.
Lets be honest here people...Empire elevated Darth Vader to OG status. That film upped the stakes and took Star Wars to another level.
