@JStokes I know I have to leave moderation to moderators but please do the following next time. 1) Please either refrain starting NFL Gameday threads if you aren't going to follow the norms. 2) If you can't stop yourself and you MUST start a thread, please leave your crappy Cow comments out of the thread title. Cheers!
I'd say they're just outside of bottom 5. - Titans - Browns -49ers - Chargers - Ravens - Saints Bottom 7 I guess, but point stands- they suck badly
It really is mind boggling. The Giants are an awful football team. Their defense can't stop a high school team, and they have no running game whatsoever. The Panthers are going to dismantle them on Sunday. Panthers -5 has to be the lock of the season. Other than hitting a few big passes to OBJ, I have no idea how the Giants are going to move the football against that defense, and how on Earth is that OL going to Keep Eli from getting killed? On the other side of the ball you have the worst defense in the league going against one of the top 5 scoring teams. This game has 38-13 written all over it. I really have to laugh when I hear the Giants fans lament about being 8-5 or 9-4 if the game was 58 minutes long. I'm having a hard time understanding the logic. Is the other team supposed to stop playing because they're behind late? Why don't they try watching the sport? Every week most of the games are close and they come down to making a stop, or making some first downs to run out the clock with the game on the line. The good teams are the ones that can do that. If you can't run the ball, and you can't stop a nosebleed, it's actually a pretty amazing feat to win 6 games.
People assume the Giants will beat the Panthers cause they beat the 13-0 Broncos in 1998, cause they beat the undefeated Pats in 2007, Stewart's out and the Panthers are the worst 13-0 team ever yadda yadda yadda.
they could beat the Panthers, but it's more likely that they lose they beat the Pats in the playoffs, they lost to them in the regular season so if it's 2007 again, they lose to Carolina this coming week and then beat them in the NFC championship game or something
It's nothing about the other team is supposed to stop playing late, it's that Tom Coughlin and his OC have had the absolute worst clock management and play calling combination in the final two minutes of games in, maybe, NFL history. There are probably 3 or 4 games that if the Giants run the ball instead of throwing (incomplete) passes, they kick the ball back to their opponent with maybe 30 seconds and a 3-4 point lead. Instead they have inexcusably thrown the ball every time they were in that situation, failed to extend their lead, and given the ball back sometimes without even using the 2 minute warning stoppage. This also played a huge role in why they lost to the Patriots. IIRC this is nearly the exact method that they lost in weeks 2, 3, and Patriots week. All 3 games should have been easy victories if their HC/OC didn't go full retard. And I hate the Giants, but awful coaching lost games, the opponents didn't win those all on their own.
the giants complete and utter lack of a running game has hurt them over and over again. their complete and total lack of an nfl defense has hurt them over and over again and the way their cs has tried to adapt to that situation has hurt them over and over again too.
