Probably the answer to ending all the mindless violence. Two or three days with Mr. Truth would have these guys dismantling their bombs and guns as they run screaming for the exits.

‘Sex slave’ priest couldn’t even show his face to resign

    Modal Trigger

Worshippers at a Bronx Catholic church broke into applause Sunday when a letter from their disgraced priest was read before Masses announcing he was stepping aside in the wake of a humiliating sex scandal.

The Rev. Peter Miqueli was nowhere to be found at St. Frances de Chantal Church when another priest read a letter from him, causing cheers to break out.

Craig Burner, one of the cheering parishioners, said Miqueli should have been out months ago.

“He was just mean and nasty. His letter is a lie,” Burner said. “We reported him to the archdiocese, and they said they would look into this, but they never did.”

Miqueli is being investigated for allegedly lifting church funds to pay for private boy toy Keith Crist, a muscular S&M master.

Parishioner William Doucet said he grew so suspicious of Miqueli that he stopped using cash for the collection plate.

“I stopped giving money in my envelope and would only write a check when I heard about the funny business with the money,” Doucet said.

But Miqueli wasn’t totally without backers, as Thersea Chirinnos yelled out in support of him Sunday: “He will come back!”

LAWSUIT ALLEGES BRONX PRIEST STOLE $1 MILLION FOR DRUG-FUELED SEX ROMPS

    THROGS NECK (WABC) --
Allegations of a sex scandal are rocking a Bronx community, as a Catholic priest is accused of stealing $1 million from two churches and then using the money to fund an S&M relationship with his boyfriend.

A new lawsuit filed against 53-year-old Father Peter Miqueli and the Archdiocese of New York also alleges he bought the New Jersey home he shares with his boyfriend with the pilfered funds.

"Every worst thought that we thought came to light," parishioner Janeen Ruzzi said. "It was sad."

The allegations of wrongdoing are shocking, chief among them the claim that more than $1 million was skimmed from church coffers over the years.

"It would be envelopes without the money in there, and with amounts written on there," Ruzzi said. "People who did work and seeing money lying around on the floor in his room. There were just a lot of things that didn't add up."

Miqueli has been the pastor at St. Frances de Chantel in Throgs Neck since 2012, and to say parishioners don't like him is an understatement. There is an online petition calling for his ousting, as well as a web site featuring a long list of grievances.

"He's supposed to be the leader of this parish," parishioner Rosemary Lillis said. "He's supposed to be the shepherd. How can you do that? How can you put somebody here that has such terrible accusations about him?"

The lawsuit goes even further, alleging Miqueli used church funds to buy a home in Brick, and that the money fueled a lavish lifestyle for the couple.

Father Miqueli wasn't available for comment, but the office manager at the rectory came to his defense.

"Whatever they say is up to them," she said. "It's their choice to say whatever they choose to say. People who do not know facts can be ignorant."

There are additional allegations involving drugs and sex-slave fantasies.

The archdiocese would only confirm that it is investigating.

Priest named in sex-slave prostitute suit

BRICK - A New York City Catholic priest is accused of embezzling nearly $1 million in church donations to pay a male prostitute and buy a $264,000 home here for the two of them to live in, according to a lawsuit filed by parishioners.

The complaint, filed Thursday in the Supreme Court of New York, alleges the Rev. Peter Miqueli funneled church money for his personal use which included paying a prostitute $1,000 a session to act out his "sexual fantasies." The prostitute, identified as Keith Crist in court papers, engaged in a bondage-sadism-masochism relationship in which he role-played as the "sexual master" and made Miqueli the "slave," the complaint states.

Miqueli, a pastor at St. Frances De Chantal parish, could not be reached for comment.

The lawsuit also names the Archdioceses of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Crist, and seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages. The Archdiocese did not return a request for comment, but a spokesman told the New York Post that it “has . . . taken these allegations seriously and has been investigating them.” Crist could not be located for comment.

Miqueli allegedly took donations from two different parishes he presided over since 2003, the suit claims. Court documents say he used the collection-plate cash to purchase a house in Brick in 2009 for about $264,000.

No one answered the door when a reporter visited the single-story home on Friday located on Cornell Drive in Brick as a crush of reporters and TV camera operators saturated the working-class neighborhood.

The 34-page lawsuit claims, in detail, how Miqueli allegedly spent the stolen church dollars taken from a thrift store and parishioners' donations: Miquel frequently took trips to Italy and Florida, spent as much as $60,000 in 2012 to buy illegal drugs to consume with Crist and pays $1,075 a month to rent a Park Avenue apartment for Crist.

Miquel's salary as priest, meanwhile, has remained below $31,000, court papers state.

The Catholic Church doesn't accept the lifestyle of gays but their priesthood is filled with them. Nothing wrong with that until they start raping children or embezzle $$ to support sadomasochistic fantasies.

Can't wait to hear the rationalization or excuses or naïveté or intentional ignorance.

Nothing a couple of church bingos won't help recoup.

"There is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him." (Rom 10:9-18)
Out of [our often messy human history], the Messiah came. This history teaches me something about redemption. No matter how tangled my life may be, redemption can still come out of that mess. ... my mission is to share in the work of Jesus, to cooperate in His work of redeeming the world, to share His goodness and help move this world one step closer to the Kingdom of God. ...

"Trust in the Lord forever. For the Lord is an eternal rock..." (Is 26)

"Prophets, like Isaiah, call me to trust in God. The sun doesn't always shine in my life. There will be times when God seems far away from me. But, like the Israelites, I need to trust in the Lord when the going gets rough."

The story of Adam & Eve reveals a great deal about God's plan for us, and how original sin altered that plan, leading to the crucial work of the Messiah...

"Adam and Eve were so close to being correct that it's a shame they got off track. They wanted to be like God. That's what the book of Genesis tells us. So far, so good. The trouble is, perhaps they thought to be 'like God' meant to be independent, free to do whatever they wished. But God is a God of communion, not isolation. A God who goes outward, not inward. A God, above all, of compassion."
~excerpt from "The Little Blue Book: Advent and Christmas seasons, 2015-2016"

So we need to follow God's law, just as we need to follow traffic laws to avoid serious accidents, or we need to follow the just laws of our country in order to protect the rights of everyone. We cannot be truly happy (or at peace) if we simply follow our own changing, chaotic desires; as fallable human beings, we need the guidance of our perfect, heavenly Father, just as a child needs the guidance of his or her parents, while still being able to make free choices within that framework.

[It's clear to anyone who really thinks about it with an open mind that we are not the result of random processes originating from "space dust," but that we were created in a careful, deliberate way; just look at not only humans, but all of the living things in the world and ask yourself, is it reasonable to conclude that all of this order, beauty, and extremely complex functionality somehow came about through purely random collisions of raw materials in a formless, undirected space? (not to mention where those raw materials came from in the first place!) The vast majority of educated people in the world realize that common sense dictates the existence of some kind of metaphysical creator outside of our familiar dimensions of space and time. If you read the theories of the minority of scientists who still call themselves atheists, you will see how convoluted, far-fetched, and contrived their theories are. They defy even common sense, and even try to circumvent the most basic laws of nature! They are the result of desperate, unhappy lost souls trying to justify their narrow, empty world view, and most scientists today disagree with them.]

To obey God is to be truly free, to live as we human beings were intended to, according to our human nature -- free from worry or anxiety. ("We were naked, so we hid ourselves! ~Gn 3 --- fear!). Just as animals don't know they are "naked", Adam and Eve were pure and innocent, with no shame, no self-conscious need to hide their bodies from each other, because they didn't even know that sin was a possibility! The idea of sexual sin, rape, etc, was totally foreign to them, they only knew God's love, joy, happiness...they were totally at peace with themselves and each other. When they were tricked by the devil into eating the forbidden fruit, they lost their innocence, and became aware of the possibility of sin, that they were "naked", they felt vulnerable, etc...before eating the fruit, they were more free, because they were free from the harmful effects of sin, they only knew goodness, joy, happiness, and peace living in a pure paradise; when they began to sin, they became exposed to suffering and even death. (before that they were to live eternally in that paradise, which today we call heaven). Heaven and earth were one, and the Bible tells us that some day God will restore a new heaven and a new earth. Jesus conquered sin and death on the cross; good won a decisive victory over evil on that famous day, and we are now in the process of making our way through the remnants of that struggle to the day when God's Kingdom is restored. It's like when a war ends, but not all of the soldiers have gotten the message that a peace accord has been achieved, and so there is still fighting going on...that's where we are now. But we know that victory has already been achieved for us, the devil has been defeated (not that a lost creature could even defeat its Creator!), and all we need to do to claim the "spoils" of this victory, the prize of heaven, is to accept these truths and do our best to live according to our true human nature, to be as happy as we can in this life, and enjoy eternal peace and happiness in the next (where the vast majority of us will live the way God always intended for us, sharing in His joy!)

I agree with your posts for the most part and definitely have some disdain for the Catholic Corpiration.
That said, are you anti Christianity?
Edit: what I meant to ask is, are you anti Christianity or anti religious

    I am neither.

I'm am a God fearing Catholic raised adult that can think for himself and I don't believe nor accept everything my Church preaches.

When a neophyte who cannot think for himself tells me I'm not authorized to pick and choose to believe what I want from the Church's dogma, I feel the desire to tell him to piss off.

I think religion as a whole and the Catholic religion in particular have very worthwhile characteristics.

But I also believe some of it is hypocritical or just plain complete and utter horseshit and if someone is going to preach only the Glory of it and ignore the very real darkness, well, then, Priests rape kids.

    We're on the same page.

For what it's worth, anyone that doesn't see the clear benefit to a corrupt leadership of that policy is diluted. The policy of you can only connect to God through one of our priests that is. It's so transparently Orwellian it's laughable.

I also have a personal relationship with Jesus that requires only for me to love and accept him. No middle man needed.

Some of my favorite lines from U2 songs--"well, the God I believe isn't short of cash, mister" and "blessings are not just for the ones who kneel".

if jesus were around today, or if he comes back (not holding any breath) he'd kick the Joel Osteens and Benny Hinns of the world down a flight of steps and beat them with a tack hammer and rightly so! i have doubts to his existence, but i do feel if he did exist, he was simply an incredibly good man who tried to help others and got in trouble with the wrong people! the Romans! he was not a son of god, and he definitely didnt want to become the rock star that the world has turned him into. thats just me though.
