I certainly didn't expect us to be .500 when the season started, and I'm sure many didn't as well. We have shown some great promise so far. There's alot of hope, and alot of football left in this season. I came into this season with lowered expectations, and even though we've seen some flashes, we can't expect anything more than what we have, and thats a decent team that should go 8-8 with lots of young talent and reason for optimism. So lets keep our perspective and not start the chopping block on co-ordinators, players or philosophy.

    You are right.

Who cares that we lost the way we did today.

Being 4-4 is better than anyone expected. YAY!

F- being better than anyone expected. After the Buy the jste have possibly the 2 toughest games of the season. Assuming they lose those, there is a huge difference between 5-5 and 4-6.

But then nearly all of the remaining games are winnable, if you would have told me that we'd be even 4-6 with those 6 left I would have taken it in a heartbeat

You guys have over-inflated expectations of this team. This is a 4-12 team rebuilding ok? We will lose more games like today's than win them because we're rebuilding. We're better than most folks thought we would be however, we're not as good as our record says we are. We're 4-4 ONLY because we've had a powderpuff schedule so far. If we wind up .500 or better, it will be because of that reason as well.

Be Patient and let Tangini complete the job they're successfully starting. That means stop with the expectations that seems more based from a Disney movie.

The 2006 Jets are better than last year's team, but not ready for prime time just yet.

    Patience folks... Patience..

Everyone keeps saying that but were a 4-12 team. If you told me before the year I have a healthy Chad Pennington I would expect maybe 6 or 7 games. I have patience in Tangini and see the big picutre, but the we are only suppossed to win only 4 games line does not cover the sting of losing to the browns. Were not as bad as many bottom feeders in the NFL

8-8 is a disappointment in a season, period.

Anything short of the playoffs is a disappointment.

Why would I ever root for a better draft position?

you echo my sentiments. How could we be dissapointed in anything when we have talent for the future like Leon Washington, Kerry Rhodes, Nick Mangold, Brick, Brad Smith...etc? I have seen enough from these young players so far to know that Tangini will build around them and address the issues that are pressing at seasons end. Just because we one a few games and saw flashes of brilliance from these players so far, doesn't mean that expectations have changed from week 1. We knew this was a rebuilding year. If we started out 8-0, then expectations naturally would change, as we would fast track this team as a contender in a very short time, but thats not the case.

What, were we 12-4 last year, and expected to contend for the division this year? You would rather be 4-12 than 8-8?

When did I ever say that? Obviously 8-8 is better than 4-12. But I'm saying that anything short of the playoffs this year is a disappointment. Is it better to finish 9-7 and miss by one game than go 5-11? Duh, but still, anything short of the playoffs is a disappointment.

Where did you ever get the idea that I thought 4-12 is better than 8-8?
