Do you happen to have the lotto numbers for tonight as well? I know its a long shot. But did you expect them to lose to the Eagles last week? Their o-line problems are a cause for concern.
I swear it causes that asshole physical pain to say something positive without getting in a cheap shot. We smothered the Titans, don't even try to downplay it.
Yes. Check PM's No Gronk no Edleman, no Lewis, etc... Yeah it wasn't all that shocking... The team we just destroyed is not losing to them next week. If you've watched any football in the last 15 years you'd know that's not happening with Bill Bellicheck on the sideline. Wildcard is possible, division is not.
I'm rooting for the Pats as aside from ending the remote possibility of an AFC South WC it means I won't be full of bitter regret about losing the 1st Pats game as otherwise we could be going into Week 16 playing for the lead of the Division.
WTF? No there's not we play the EXACT same schedule aside from 2 teams.... Our 2 teams Browns AFCN One of the worst teams in the NFL Raiders AFCW Middle of the pack Pats 2 Teams Steelers AFCN Same record as us... Broncos AFCW One the best teams in the NFL
The big thing with New England is week 17 at Miami. Them losing one of the next two weeks is possible. They aren't playing the best teams, but New England hasn't been playing that well. We get to control their result in week 16, which plays into our favor. The problem is that we need Miami to win week 17 to have a chance at the division. If that single result does not happen, the rest of New England's results this season don't really matter for us since they'll win the division no matter what if they win that game.
I thought 3-1 and we were pretty safe.. Now everyone is talking we have to win them all... Don't we only have Pitt to worry about? If they lose and we lose we finish with same record but they will have conference tie breaker right? So we need them to lose one more than we do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh you did... I just laid it for you. Ignorance is a bliss. And it doesn't matter anyway Pats win 1 more and they clinch.
Let me clarify, since I think you are confused. Strength of victory is the winning percentage of teams that you beat, and we haven't beat the exact same teams as they have. Its actually pretty close, and they only lead us by a small margin in current strength of victory, which is why I think we'd beat them if we win out and they lose a few more games.
Pitt and KC are ahead of us if all three of the 8-5 teams win out, so we need one of them to lose at least one game, even if we win out. If we lose one of the remaining three, it gets complicated. That might involve some of the teams that are 7-6 at the end of the week, and although I haven't calculated yet whether or not we'd be in, we lose most tiebreakers even if we get to 11-5. That probably won't change if we are at 10-6. If we do lose one game though, Dallas is the loss that hurts our playoff chances the least.
I calculated this the other day, if we both finish 11-5 our stength of victory would only differ by us beating Cleveland and Miami (an extra time) while they beat PIT and BUF (an extra time). We can't tie them.
It's a 1 out of 100 chance..but its still a chance. They lose tonight and people will be talking division.
Thankfully, there are no 7-6 teams, everyone behind the PIT/NYJ/KC hydra has 7 losses (except Houston, but then theyd just win the South), so that simplifies things. I think our best shot is probably the Chiefs crashing back down to earth.
On the plus side the Ravens (upto last week) loses have been within a score so they're still competitive and the Browns didn't look like the worst team in the league with JM starting so its not improbable for KC or the Steelers to trip up but.........we may have to win out.
