According to Page Six, that meant the Jets were the visiting team ... and, reportedly, they were treated like any other visitors on game day: "Among the snubs, Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was turned away from the lot where he and his teammates usually park and told he had to go to the visitors' parking lot. "Even Jets owner Woody Johnson's wife Suzanne was disenfranchised, insiders said. Suzanne was told she couldn't use the VIP entrance and had to enter the stadium through a loading dock." I could understand with Marshall...but seriously. The wife of the Jets owner couldn't be let in through the VIP entrance? They probably see her there all the time! Can you imagine if the Jets did the same in 2011 with that old Mara hag (Beef Wellingtons wife) as it is they got too much grief for the banner coverings. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/12/how_jets_were_treated_like_visiting_team_by_metlif.html
oh how terrible... they had to enter the stadium from a different special lot than their normal special lot. what an inconvenience. I feel so bad for these people. (sarcasm)
While it's not that big a deal in one sense, and certainly isn't beneath Suzanne to have to enter through a loading dock, I think it's ridiculous to treat their co-tenants that way, especially their wives. IMO that's just indicative of the Giants' arrogance, and a small sampling of why I hate the Giants so much. If they never win another game, it will be too soon. I hope another incident or two like this will happen and Woody will tell the Giants to take Met Life Stadium and shove it up their ass that the Jets are leaving, and then build on the racegrounds in Yonkers or somewhere actually in NY state.
I understand where you're coming from and agree to an extent, but with the Jets and Giants supposedly being equals as co-tenants in the stadium, it's more than a little ridiculous to treat the players' wives and owner's wife that way. IMO it just reflects the Giants' arrogant attitude. I hate those bastids.
I'd be pissed as hell. We share a stadium with them. Equally. Yes, we were the visiting team but that still is the same stadium Woody Johnsons team plays out of. Whether you are home or away on paper does not mean the stadium is no longer yours to share. No one should be treated that way, on both sides.
That's not the point, even though we were "visitors" special courtesies are still extended because we are 50/50 owners of the stadium Again, could you imagine having Mrs. Mara enter the stadium through a loading dock in 2011 and the furor that would have followed? When have you ever heard of Kraft or any of the Patriots brass being mistreated at Metlife? Never? Could the Giants have at least waved through the wife of the Jets owner? This goes beyond simple gamesmanship like covering up banners. It bleeds into being a scumbag for the sake of being a scumbag "Here...you can enter where we load up the meats and take out the garbage" that's definitely sending a message
could you imagine partnering in a billion dollar real estate investment, and then your partner insisted that your wife enter via a loading dock because it was 'his day'? partnering with those duechebags to build an oversized AC unit in the swamps of NJ was the worst move Woody has made. hopefully he'll realize this, and get the team their own stadium in NY. i believe there is an opt out possibility at some point.
There is, I believe the Jets can't opt out for another 9 or 10 years though. If they opt out the Giants must stay there for the remaining 84 years of the 99 year lease.
I would take the high road... when the JETS host .. Woody should give them VIP treatment and in their suite Have a bottle of champagne waiting along with boxes stacked of J&J Tissues and No Tears Baby Formula shampoo!
Classless, unnecessary BS actions by a low life organization. For the remaining few in NY that think the Giants are a classy organization, including pedophile and drug addict former players, this is a small message as to how pathetic that organization is. I bet that pompous ass Mara would not do this to other asshole buddies like the Rooney's, or to the Commissioner they bought and paid for. The best day in Jets history is when we tell Metlife and the whole Mara beurochracy to fuck off and we move the hell out of Jersey.
