I dunno what he said but I laughed my balls off at the stupid fucks who whined that you couldn't call a bench penalty on a player on IR....plus those who packed in and gave up on the team...of course they'll be back this week......
Right. It's like if you're on IR and you ran onto the field and tripped someone you can't call a penalty on him because...he's on IR. _
I agree I don't know what Colon's doing(I get he's a "Team Leader" but it isn't necessary) but it takes two to tango and to let DRC get off the hook when he was just as guilty is an awful call. Both were simultaneously jawing and approaching one another, not a case of "We caught the 2nd person in the act, not the 1st". It reminds me of Murray this year badmouthing Dan Bailey, except Bailey made the mistake of grabbing Murray by the shoulder which is what caught him. Both should have been flagged though, Murray instigated the whole thing.
Exactly. Add into that the racists fucks trolling on TB, and everyone else who quit in the first half. Gratifying win on so many levels.
[youtube] Stupid explanation, so Murray throwing a football at a player is excused.......but I get it Mike's gotta defend his boys. This was an awful call, should have been double fouls.
I disagree. I applaud the NFL for going after the instigator of trouble rather than nailing the guy who responds. Colon should get fined and told to keep his stupid mouth shut or he sit at home during games.
At the time, I thought it was, and it still may have been, but I think it depends on what was said and if Colon indeed started it.
Only the pussiest of motherfucking referees throws a flag for a little trash talk in a game designed for grown men to beat the shit out of each other
I think bowles mentioned a reason in his presser. Something about an IRed player being outside an allocated area? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Having a difficult time understanding folks defending Colon in this instance. He's a noncombatant and should STFU. Unless you know what he said or didn't say, criticizing the ref for throwing a flag is just plain ignorance. _
No it's not. And people aren't criticizing the ref, I am the only one. I'm not defending Colon he's a stupid colon of course who I've hated since we got him but it doesn't change the fact that a referee threw a flag on someone talking on the sideline. What is this motherfucking elementary school?
Just to clarify the issue....Colon did not get penalized for talking trash, but for stepping outside the box, or designated area for non active players.
Whatever the specifics it was one of the dopiest things someone could do, pull a fifteen yarder for being a jackass while his ability to contribute is zero. Somebody name a Landry, Lombardi or Parcells type who would not have banished him in an instant.
Then it's an even worse call from the referee if true. Issue a sideline warning like referees have done when faced with that situation every time since 1902
His NFL career ended when he went on IR. Given his age, injury history, and the fact that his knee couldn't hold up for a full season -- at this point I think he'll end up having to call it a career when the season ends. I think he's being viewed as a potential media guy for the team, so they might not want to make things awkward / burn bridges over this. It is crazy that Willie Colon almost cost us the game even though he's on IR, and yeah, that was really dumb.
