This level of Jets man-love and camaraderie for our QB...
    It's unprecedented with the Jets.

    Some more man-love...

WR Brandon Marshall on what he said to Fitzpatrick before the Giants' overtime field goal try...

"I looked up and saw that he was 31-for-42 and I asked him, 'Do you want me to hold my praise?' and he said, 'Yeah, hold your praise.' I just wanted to tell him how proud I am of him leading us not only today but this whole season. It got to the point where [Josh Brown] was about to kick the field goal and I told him they’re going to miss it. I said, 'Hey, I’ve been in the league 10 years, haven’t made the playoffs, you 11. We’ve bounced around from team to team. The football gods are hearing us right now so he’s going to miss this kick.' "

Head coach Todd Bowles on if this game was the best he's seen QB Ryan Fitzpatrick play...

"I thought it was great last week as well, so I don’t know if it was the best I’ve seen him, but it was the most poised I’ve seen him in these situations. We had Buffalo in a big game, we didn’t get it done. We had New England, we didn’t get it done. So to come out in a meaningful game, for them to get it done in the fourth quarter, we obviously learned some things."

I mean we all watch Fitz every game, and we all love him as a player. Has an incredible passion for the game and a great intensity. We see it every game.

Imagine what the guys who are basically his brothers see from him up close. He's like impossible not to root for.

His physical tools are nothing real special but his heart, passion for the game and likability factor are off the charts. Geno will never see the field again as a Jet barring injury.

The defense has to be the ones loving it the best.

To actually have a guy that can put together drives and not constantly go 3 and out , has to be great for them.

First time in about 10 years that I dont fear an interception during every throw.

Sorry I'm not as old as you champ. :p

I still respect Joe Willie our legend, will rock his jersey for as long as I live...But that was a long long time ago. Count yourself lucky you witnessed a Jets Super Bowl victory.

Somewhat of a side note but this makes me even more excited at the possibility of Petty. If he spends 2 years behind this, seeing Fitz doing it right being surrounded by this positive team environment. Also, being around a winning team but one that is having to earn it. (obviously every win is earned but overtime wins build a lot more character then 40 point blowouts) I'm not crazy enough to think he is a slam dunk sure thing but things really are lining up the right way for Petty to succeed.

I mean, I get that you are excited, but there's a reason you never saw anyone give Namath or Kenny O or Chad an instagram valentine. And it's not because their teammates didn't love them.

fitz has several TD drives that have either stopped the bleeding, given us the lead, and as of yestarday won us a game. not to mention 3 crucial 4th down scrambles for firsts in huge situations on the year.

guy is average, at best, but is a huge upgrade of the crap we have had the last several years.

we'd be 2-10 with geno right now

Well I know Instagram didnt exist back then, but they still have their ways of showing affection for their QB back then.

I imagine Chad Pennington got tons of man-love after this...

Agreed. Overall he is average. But he shows flashes of being a very good QB. So I'll take that any day of the week.

Considering the average QB's who have gotten hot at the right time over the years come playoff time , it makes me think anything is possible if we get in.

As for his running , I never remembered him much as a mobile QB , but I checked his rushing stats before and this season matches up pretty well with his attempts and yardage totals from years passed.

You've just described Sancho in 2010. Seems like a lifetime ago, I know.

Chad was more of a Get Well Soon card kind of guy.

Come to think of it, so were Kenny and Joe.

True but of the top two QB's on the current roster one of them's well-respected and loved, and the other got popped in the mouth.

    Who was more injury prone?

    Joe or Chad?

Injury prone is a tough thing to say with Joe. He entered the NFL with 2 bad knees.

Chad definitely got respect and love from his fellow players and fans. FITZMAGIC has been a breath of fresh air though. 2008 Favre for the first 11ish games was great, but he really wasn't that likeable. He didn't even want to be a Jet (Clearly). Then you have the Sanchez Era that was fun for awhile, but not because of QB and the Geno Era that sucked every way possible. That makes Fitzpatrick look even better. Still, he came to the right place. He is having as much fun as the fans are.
