Enunwa plays a lot of different positions, HB, Slot WR, outside, so he gets a lot of snaps. So even when Devin is in the slot Enunwa still gets snaps as an HB but I think over the next month or so Devin is going to establish himself as the primary "slot" guy. He's not gonna get more snaps than Enunwa but he'll probably have a lot more snaps in the slot unless Chan wants Enunwa out there on running plays to block people.

Demario I think is pretty much done here, probably his last few games. He'll hit FA next year and he's not going to be a starter for us, let alone get paid enough to keep other teams that do consider him a starter from signing him which is fine by me. Draft 1-2 young ILB's and let's move on. Erin has been better and more consistent. We still need to groom somebody to take over for David in ~2 years.

That's why Davis is more or less the same player today as he was when we drafted him. Rex's zero accountability for performance in favor of loyalty to "his guys" really hurt not only the skill, but emotional development of some of these young guys.

That's true, I didn't take into Enunwa's hybrid role into consideration. I guess Smith is being groomed as the 3 with Tompkins as the 4/5. Kerley is done here and I don't understand why. I know he's not a world beater but he's not 6th WR hot garbage by a long shot.

He is but these things take time...it's not a matter of, hey a certain somebody isn't performing, let's give X player all his snaps.

A guy like Pace, who maybe early in the season was an every down player is now regulated to just being in on runs just because he's solid on setting the edge still. Def not as effective as a pass rusher but that's when you bring in Mauldin/Catapano (well he's hurt now) who are your outside pass rushers and guys who had to show they can be effective at pressing the QB.

A guy like Miles is proving more and more that he can play in this league. Maybe Bowles will begin to play more 3 safety looks (I think the only reason he hasn't this year is because safety depth has been very thin with guys hurt this year). But Miles could be that SS/LB role in due time.

Then Henderson and Lattimore are beginning to fill in at the 2nd MLB spot as Davis time diminishes and they have done a better job then Davis. Davis was thought to be the guy to come into his own but more and more, he's looking like a liability and is only in on select downs. Bowles is trying to find the guys needed to make this defensive unit the best it can be...it's taking time but I feel he's starting to find who fits what role the best.
