Brandon Marshalls transformation from DEN, MIA, CHI and now here is truly unique. Hes grown up so much and has clearly gotten past his mental issues from earlier in his career. He pretty much handpicked coming to NY and although it might had to do with possibly building his brand, he's also bringing awareness to mental health in the US so I'm all for it. Along with him only being 31, he should have several productive years left when he retires.
Dude seems to have really matured the past 3 or so years. has always been a beast, and i was raving about the trade when it was made in march (I'm pretty sure it was march) to all my buddies about how much of a difference he would make. I'm super happy with the returns for a 5th?! are you kidding me?!?! No Jet fan should be even remotely upset about anything Marshall has done. His production has FAR out-weighed any negatives he brings. Even the tertiary effects he has had on Decker has been amazing.
In DEN he was legit immature, in MIA Coach Philbin wanted him gone before he even got there, probably heard the rumblings about his mental issues and got rid of him . CHI he reunited with Cutler and along with him being older and more mature finally realized that Cutler just doesn't have it. I think we got the biggest s
Every place he's been he's had a history of drama, complaining about not getting the ball enough, conflicts with teammates etc, earlier this year he raised eyebrows with some of his comments to the press, that's why we were able to acquire a Pro Bowl talent for a lower round draft pick. He's been close to a model citizen with the Jets; but let's not forget, he did almost get into a fistfight defending his wife's honor in this game.
Lmao So he's high maintenance here because he's had issues elsewhere in the past? He almost got in a fist fight because the guy made a rude remark about his wife. I'm pretty sure anyone on here would have done the same. It was to the point that the player apologized to him later during the game about the remark. And he's an NFL player. He's gonna make remarks that turn heads, almost all players do. But to call him high maintenance is ridiculous. He hasn't done anything on this team that warrants that claim. Basing the present on the past is the biggest mistake someone can make
Are we seriously finding ways to bitch about a guy who has over 1000 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns in week 13?
my only complaint is why did we have 2 drives into 1st and goal where we didn't throw a fade to Marshall? Both drives wound up being FGs (one made it 20-13 NYG, the other was OT making it 23-20 jets) but the one drive where we did (down 20-13) we threw the fade to tie the game. We should always give Marshall at least 1 jump ball in the end zone
This bothers me at least once a game. And it really shouldn't considering we have the best red zone offense in the league. But seriously, how do you have Brandon Marshall and not just throw it up once for him to go get it when you're in the red zone?
What he's done not only has given us our first true WR1 in years, but has helped Decker succeed in his proper WR2 role; all the while giving guys like Enunwa, Powell, and even Smith chances to make plays. 5th round pick has proved to be an absolute steal on what seemed to be a flyer move.
I'm more than ready to forget. Is he unlike Saint Beckham who kicked the ball in frustration? or any other good player with fire in his belly who lets momentary emotions get the best of him? This happens across the board with football players that are winners. It's the passion and occasional frustration of a violent game. It's imbedded in elite players more than others....that's why they can take the game to a different level. I truly believe many Jet fans will be unhappy no matter what the results are, and forever try to find the fly shit in the pepper to make a point that absolutely does not need to be made. Last year we were in dire need of a playmaker, now we have a top notch #1 for a change, who has made a winner out of this team, a go to player when the chips are down, and some still bitch about his past, as the do with FITZ. LOL Good Lord some fans deserve to root for the Browns.
It seems like [some] people are bitching because he's not as good as Wayne Chrebet, Wesley Walker or Al Toon.
far, far cry from bitching... they are putting a receiver who's been here for 12 games in company with some of the greatest receivers in this organization's history, guys that played many years here, fan favorites etc. For a guy like Marshall to even be in the conversation is a compliment, not to mention many here are saying he is more talented than those guys.
I gave you an example from this year, you just chose to ignore it because it didn't fit your inaccurate narrative. September 9, 2015, Coach Bowles had to tell Brandon Marshall to cool it with his comments to the press about racial issues. Would Bowles have to do that with Mo Wilk, or Mangold, or Fitz, not likely. That's why Marshall's high maintenance, your always on the precipice of a potential issue.
The guy has been playing lights out. I knew he would be special for us during the pre-season. He's an absolute stud. Great to see him and Fitz bonding week in and week out. On another note Marshall has been on the injury report since the Raider game. He's been playing through foot problems and he is an absolute trooper. Check out the picture of his foot he posted several days ago.. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/12/if_this_is_jets_brandon_marshalls_foot_it_looks_gr.html Looking at his Instagram is also pretty fun. There's a great picture of him and Fitz facetiming and they look like best friends lol.
Lmao Mo just was benched for missing a meeting or being late. Disciplinary action. I guess Mo is now a headache. You gave me an example of a black player talking out about his ethnicity, something that has been going on for years and that is the furthest thing from requiring disciplinary action.
Stephen Hill, if only our receiver coaches told him how to run routes, he would be better than Brandon Marshall!
