I agree that he played a good game, but I disagree that he didn't have time on those plays. He had time, he just didn't look. His eyes were locked on receivers downfield and he just stepped up into greater pressure. In your own post above (#117), you said that good QBs see the pressure early and move to avoid it. He didn't on those plays. As I said before, I'm not killing him for those plays. He played a great game. He just didn't see the pressure and adjust. He was trying to make a play downfield, so I'm not gonna be too harsh on him, but those sacks could have been game enders.
They are busy scouring other rosters for back up QBs to figure out what team they are likely going to be rooting for next year. _
You'd have thought at least one of them would have shown up to say Fitz had a helluva game today but noooooo....
Bro... 4 plays outta 50 and you're gonna pick that to bitch about? He was under pressure most of the game and managed to get the ball out quick, or move and get the ball out or run forward with the ball.
We probably aren't winning a Super Bowl with him but he's not the reason that's the case. He's looking very Brad Johnson-ish to me at this point. We just don't have the 2002 Bucs defense.
Guy, I wasn't bitching about it, just commenting. I agree that he was under pressure most of the game. I said I wasn't going to kill him over it, but that it's something that should be fixed. As a smart veteran QB, he knows that he should throw the ball away rather than take a sack. Taking a sack could cost the Jets a game.
Fitzpatrick has very good pocket awareness. He was moving around in the pocket all day and that was what made two of the 3rd down conversions work.
I wanted Geno to start at a few different points this season but I guess I was wrong......Fitz is playing better than I thought he played basically his whole career, simple as that I'm not going to even get into what I think of Geno in the future, just rooting Fitz on as this has been a pretty fun season so far overall
You're just nitpicking, really. He did far more good than bad in the pocket today. And like I said, he's the least sacked QB in the league. Every single QB in the league takes sacks like Fitz took today. I don't get your point other than to nitpick.
Fine. Think what you want. I've been one of the most positive fans on this site this season, continually taking on all the doom and gloomers and fire Bowles crowd.
Can we thank Rontez Miles while we're at it? That INT at the goal line kinda sorta turned the game around...
Weren't the Jets only in that position because he jumped offsides on a punt? At least he made up for his mistake in a big way though. Fitzpatrick was great today. He made some big time throws and had a critical 4th down run. Next week, the team needs to avoid busting so many coverages and not try to give the game away on special teams.
Skrine can blitz but he cannot cover anyone. Darrin Walls probably sleeps 10 yards off from his wife. Cro is Cro, a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.....
