Marshall wishes he was Wayne Chrebet. Fucker can't even dive with his entire body outstretched and catch the ball on his fingertips. And I'm serious.
Hence by asking not to compare the two. They're both tall males, both play WR, neither is a burner, and both are of African-American descent. IMO that's where the comparison ends. IMO Marshall is more talented, a much more powerful player, and I think is even a little faster.
I remember how TGG bitched when Maccagnan traded for a psycho malcontent locker room cancer, and then bitched again when Macc gave him a raise 5 days later.
I'm not sure what happened between him and Cutler, but just taking a quick look back at his career numbers, he has had some monster seasons. He has FIVE SEASONS WITH OVER 100 CATCHES: 101, 118, 100, 102, and 104 receptions. (Think about that, for a second) And, in watching him play on a weekly basis, he's virtually impossible to cover 1 on 1.
Brandon Marshall gives me a sense of comfort and dominance we have not felt on offense in like...forever
Blasphemy! You are either too young to have watched them play or have forgotten just how great they were. The Ken O'Brien clip (missing epic soundtrack) has Toon and Walker Magic Wesley (Al Bundy) Walker lights up Dolphins for four TDs in one game during the famous shootout where Ken O'Brien and the Jets outgunned Dan Marino Pre-game hype for Jets Dolphins Monday Night Rematch in 1986 Pat Ryan and Wesley Walker hook up for a TD on a flea flicker against the Browns in the double OT playoff game in 1986. Al Toon Highlights
Jeez Can we just enjoy a good player? I remember Toon (didn't look at videos yet) and a lanky gret hands guy. In my mind kind of like Marshall. Toon got concussed and beat to snot though it was sad (in my memory) Both great talents, but Toon cut short IMHO
Marshall may be high maintenance, but on the field he's a stud! The kind of receiver that he is, not overly dependent on speed, usually ages well. I could see him being productive for us for another two or three seasons.
I just keep saying it.....any time Marshall (or Decker against a lesser CB) is 1 on 1, just throw it up....I don't care about situation for the most part, just throw it up to one of them and good things happen Seems like the Jets have started doing this the past few weeks more and more and it's easily the best thing we got going on offense Awesome job so far from these 2
The guy is prophetic. WR Brandon Marshall on what he said to Fitzpatrick before the Giants' overtime field goal try... "I looked up and saw that he was 31-for-42 and I asked him, 'Do you want me to hold my praise?' and he said, 'Yeah, hold your praise.' I just wanted to tell him how proud I am of him leading us not only today but this whole season. It got to the point where [Josh Brown] was about to kick the field goal and I told him they’re going to miss it. I said, 'Hey, I’ve been in the league 10 years, haven’t made the playoffs, you 11. We’ve bounced around from team to team. The football gods are hearing us right now so he’s going to miss this kick.' "
key had better hands though and key was a better blocker. Marshall is the better receiver overall though yes
why is he high maintenance? did you really ask that? have you paid attention to his 10 year NFL career at all? thankfully he hasn't done anything here to reflect that...... YET... I emphasize the yet because everywhere else he went he was a model citizen early on only to have troubles later on. We aren't out of the woods yet with this guy by any means
I didn't say his career hasn't been riddled with problems. I was referring to his time here. You can't call him high maintenance when he hasn't been high maintenance. Will he be eventually? Who knows, but to speculate he will be is ignoring the changes he's made in his life and his attitude in the present. I encourage you, if you haven't, to listen to Marshall now and listen to the changes he's made in his life. When he talked about Greg Hardy and the actions he's committed it shocked you to see that this was the new Brandon Marshall. I don't know him personally nor do I know people around him, but just from seeing him this year and listening to him talk, I have no reason to think he will be a headache again. He's not high maintenance with the Jets. He hasn't been all year
