Only 1 AFC South team is gonna make it. Texans play the Pats next week, then Texans and Colts play so 1 picks up a loss no matter what. I'm rooting for the Colts for that reason, not a wild card threat.
But wouldn't that help us out more if Houston was going for the division and we were battling Indy for the WC spot? If they won the division we would have to worry more about Houston because they beat us. Either way Id be pretty shocked if Indy won this game. I know Hasselback has been solid for them but Ben always carves up the Indy D. Should be a decent one though.
Playing around with the machine and, well I just realized something. Houston doesn't matter any more to our chances as long as we finish 10-6. Because even if they win out that would entail a division win at 10-6, with Indy finishing, at best, 10-6 as well. Houston would then have a tie breaker over Indy for the south and we would have one over them for the wild-card. Under that scenario the only teams we'd have to worry about is PIT and MAYBE KC, assuming we defeat BUF. 9-7 is another story, but yeah if we're looking to win 3 of 4 the texans don't mean squat.
This Eagles-Pats game is one of the more shocking games I can ever remember. 28 unanswered points!!!! A blocked punt for a TD, a pick 6, AND a punt return for a TD. Holy fuck.
Ridiculous early clinch scenario: we can clinch a wild-card berth following week 15 IF: Jets win vs TEN, at DAL AND PIT loses vs IND, at CIN, vs DEN BUF loses at PHI, at WAS HOU loses vs NE, at IND OAK loses at KC, at DEN OR at DEN, vs GB If this all goes down, its a green January no matter what because any team with a tiebreaker over us cant finish with a 9-7 record. KC might get ahead of us, but thats besides the point we'd be IN no if ands or buts before Christmas.
Wow, that very likely won't happen, but it's more plausible than you would think. IMO, Pitt will likely beat IND at home.
Pretty much. Basically we're looking for anybody with a tiebreaker over us to get 8 total loses. OAK, HOU, BUF, KC, PIT (the latter two would beat us on conference record believe should they win out) or, y'know, we could just win out.
