Female suspect of California shooting was Pakistani: CAIR

Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Los Angeles chapter of CAIR, said Malik is believed to be from Pakistan and had lived in Saudi Arabia before coming to the United States, Ayloush said.

On Wednesday morning, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, dropped off their six-month-old baby with Farook’s mother, saying they were going to a doctor’s appointment.

California shooting suspect was devout Muslim: father

By noon, according to police, the couple had donned assault clothing, armed themselves with rifles and stormed a holiday party attended by San Bernardino County employees, killing 14 people and wounding 17 others.

Before sunset, after a shootout with police, they were both dead, leaving a grieving community with few clues to puzzle out the motive for the carnage.

    FUCKING PAKISTAN!!!!!!!

radical islam is the motive. the guy went off to saudi arabia, came back with a pregnant wife from qutar, a huge beard and started stocking up on bomb equipment and guns. then they went into a Christmas party and attacked innocent people.

just stop with the workplace violence nonsense

it only makes sense in terms of timing/ telling a small part of the story. obviously they were planning a terrorist attack, having the arsenal they had built up. bombs made, etc.

I think its possible they were building up for an attack of some sort and then he goes to a "holiday" party gets pissed and decides today's the day. That would also explain why they didn't really have a plan for what happens afterward. They shoot up the place and then go home?

its definitely an example of a previously planned terrorist attack though, not a random angry day at the office

It was definitely a pre planned terrorist attack. I think the idea of it getting pushed up because of the fight he got into with people at work is a pretty good theory.

That's pretty far fetched. I don't know why people need to construct such elaborate schemes. It's far more reasonable that he stormed out of the pressure-cooker environment in the county health department and drove home to retrieve his well-stocked arsenal and his partner trained in military tactics for the mass slaughter of innocents - because Doris in HR used the last keurig.

But, here, back on the home front, it always comes down to how America-slash-Doris has yet again caused her own anguish, doesn't it Br4d? Caramba.

I believe it's fairly common for hobbyists to make their own ammo.`

Heh. Yeah, this. It all makes perfect sense . . . until good sense takes over.

Refusal to participate in honest discourse by both sides is what is ruining this country. Each side is dug into conflicting absolutes so they can rule up their target segment of the population, get them to vilify the other half and then vote for them so they can attain or maintain their power.

I call bullshit on this guys family and friends though. They are enablers/culprits...not buying anything from their immediate circle. You don't accumulate an arsenal like this and build bombs at the quantity level we are hearing without friends and family having some knowledge...'hey why the fuck is Farook know so much about bomb building? Why the fuck does he have so many automatic rifles? Nice guy though...super religious and god fearing dude...i'd let him watch my cat.'

"gee.. Syed Farook you sure know a lot about building bombs...such an acumen to give back to the peaceful San Bernardino metropolitan community."

His family is full of bullshitters. Not buying it, they knew he was up to something. They knew he was capable of this. I read yesterday one of the reporters interviewed a close friend and the guy would not make a single comment.

Yea, your home boy is a terrorist...and you had a pretty good idea already. What are the boxes of appliances for? Check 'em

We do these threads every time a mass shooting happens...We all know nothing can be done to stop these.

In past few years, we've had a racist moron shoot up a black church, a mental nut shoot up a school, an anti abortion moron shoot up a Planned Parenthood, and now a Muslim nut shoot up a party...

Sane people get flipped to asshole-type behavior by something that happened in their shitty lives and as a result innocent people continue to die.

Twelve pipe bombs and a house stocked the the gills with ammunition and bomb-making tools and material. We NEED better background checks; although, now that we know the identity of the slaughterers, I'm not sure the president and I are talking about the same type of background checks.

The issue is how come it is logical to prevent someone from going on an airplane for the fear of damage they might cause. But it is okay for them to go into a gun shop and arm themselves to an absurd exent without any limitation however reasonable.

I don't care if people like you invested in your whole gun "rights" worldview are tuned out or not. No reasonable argument that puts the reasonable interests of society above the gun industry and the absurdly free flow of weapons to anyone makes any difference to you and people like you. You don't want to reconsider your views no matter what occurs.

Your second paragraph is a red herring bathed in paranoia. It ignores that people like you empower terrorists by arguing against ANY reasonable limitation on their access to weapons. The absolutism of your position is what is disgusting and morally obtuse here.

The nation has lacked, ANY, bipartisanship for 4 terms or 16years.

As if the mythical "bipartisanship" is going stop individuals from shooting up or harming someone else.

I agree with that first part. Of course, we veer off when it comes to the solution. Instead of policing everyone, effective profiling would be the best way to focus our efforts and leave the vast majority of innocents unmolested.

I don't know what both sides are you are talkning about. I don't know of any proposals out there to take away all your beloved guns. It is the gun lobby and the right wing that take absolute no compromise no discussion positions on this issue. Limitations such as maximum round clips, background checks and bans on sales of assault weapons are not absolutist positions.

For myself I think it's too late for discussions, reasonable or otherwise. There are too many guns arleady out there. The cat's out of the bag, the train has left the station, and it's not going to end. I just hope me and my family do not get personally involved in the carnage that is sure to continue.

Guns aren't the problem in isolation. You just committed exactly what I said -- you are dug into your contrary absolute position and aren't interested in an honest discourse on the matter. Your behavior answered your own question.
