Better aerodynamics for those ill advised QB Dives he likes to run up the gut. If he can get it up to 8.8 MPH you're gonna see some serious shit.
holy sheeeeeeeet, that's the look of a man that knows they have him dead to rights for attempted murder. I agree that's worth a benching.
The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve signed OLB Josh Martin off the Colts’ practice squad. Martin, 23, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Columbia back in 2013. He was re-signed to an exclusive rights contract back in April, but was unfortunately waived with an injury settlement at the start of the season. The Buccaneers signed him to their active roster before waiving him with the injury designation over a month ago. The Colts later added him to their practice squad towards the end of October. This season, Martin has been active for two games, but has yet to record a single statistic. So there you go. Pure special teams guy at this point. Here I thought they'd at least bring in somebody who can make an impact on special teams (KR). At 6'3 - 245 lbs. he could also help rush the passer I guess. Mauldin is also listed as a starter now on the depth chart but it probably means nothing. Douzable started last week...and Coples was released because we needed more speed? How is replacing him with Douzable make us any faster? Or better period? So odd what this coaching staff sees half the time.
This roster is still pretty poorly put together. There is no depth and we have too many guys with similar skill sets, aren't ready to or don't really complement each other. We have Powell and Ridley who have similar running style to Ivory, prior to his injury you could add Stacy to that list. None of these guys can return punts, catch very well or be used on specials. We have two TE one that can't block and one that can't catch; of course the one that can only does so "some" of the time. We have outside linebackers who can't get at the QB and backups who don't see much action and barely play specials. I figured they might take a look at Dri Archer or something and let Lattimore, Riley and Maudlin see more time on the field, using Douzable and picking up another churn LB just to play specials is strange. I think before all is said and done this lineup will need to undergo much more turn over.
That coin toss in week 17 against the Bills should be fun. IK, TJ Barnes, probably another Jet (Dee? Kerley?), and then you have the current Jets. It's like a big family reunion.
This just goes to show you that Rex is way to attached to his bullshit players. IK released, Rex picks him up. Guy hasn't done shit in Buffalo. Coples released, Rex was ready to grab him if Miami didn't. Barnes released, Rex grabs him immediately. He will live and die by his players. He doesn't know how to move on
Wouldn't make any difference. He lets other men fondle his wife's feet (and do what else I wonder), so a former girlfriend wouldn't matter. He'd probably want to pimp her out. He's only possessive about his players.
Yeah, because coaches never sign former players they are familiar with. But carry on with your love affair.
Man you're pissed lately. Of course coaches do that every now and then, when the player fits his scheme, if the player did well under him on his previous team. Of course. But you don't do that with virtually everybody that played under you. So there are levels of that. Bowles brought over Cromartie and Ronald Talley I believe. That's it. There are and were still a shitload of other guys he coached before that he didn't bother to bring in. And Tulley couldn't even survive the first wave of cuts. Cromartie we're married to at least this year so there's nothing he can do about it. Rex tries to go after every single guy we let go on defense, he did the same when he was here with his Baltimore players. Leonhard, Pryce, Landry, I'm sure there were at least a handful of other guys. Bart Scott of course. But those were really good players. Now he just picks up any backup/practice squad type that he can get his hands on. He brought over his entire Jets coaching staff to the Bills, too. Bowles didn't do that either. Nobody does that. Why surround yourself with the same people that got you fired in the first place? That said, I can't blame him for going after guys like Barnes or Coples. Your D-Line is in terrible shape and they are perfect fits so this only makes sense. It's just that Rex knows those guys better than anyone else in the league so he has a leg up on everybody. But it's still crazy how he can't just let go and start over fresh. He could have went with Deon Simon as well but he wanted "his" guy (Barnes). What he does...it's like being dumped by your girlfriend and then you try to replace her with somebody that looks very similar.
Its a lot easer to pick players that have played in your system and know it. This late in the year it would be hard to try and teach...he wants plug and play.
Disappointing for sure. We'll see if somebody can step up and offer the same type of disruption/effort we've seen from Catapano. Ronald Martin is a S/LB tweener, not sure where he fits exactly considering we have two good backup safeties.
