Not that many useful players from the 7th round, really. Look at the 7th round of recent drafts. Few guys are even still on NFL rosters. As an aside, it's actually better for guys to go undrafted than get drafted in the 7th round. They're pretty much the same thing, but undrafted means you can choose where you go.
The point is that Manziel isn't that good, he's a distraction, and an off field incident waiting to happen, and I'd rather have a 7th round pick that doesn't make the roster any day rather than his sorry ass. The Jets don't need any distraction or the circus to return.
I needed a QB in fantasy and traded Hopkins for Manziel. Then I traded Peterson for Marshawn Lynch. Bad week for me.
you're joking, right? DeAndre Hopkins for a Browns QB? AD for Lynch, who is on and off the field and not dominant at all?
I'm not pushing it as the blindingly obvious way to make us a SB team but I could see the logic behind taking a flyer on JM. Sure, NY is probably not the place for him to become a monk or disappear off the media radar but at the risk of sounding like a Genobot - "he has the tools, has shown traces of quality play so lets see what kind of QB he is". 2 seasons of Geno has pretty much given me enough tape to dismiss him but 5 games out of JM still leaves me wondering. I think the most obvious set-up for next year is Fitz as the vet/mentor with Bryce padded up and hopefully ready to go in and perform. The third QB can be a vet, FA project, a returning Simms, Tebow, Johnny, Geno's mom or even Eugene hiself.
Browns got what they deserved. There is a reason that a Heisman Winner wasn't being touched by everyone else. Everyone knew he has baggage. Johnny Football has been a distraction for the entire NFL as far as negative publicity . It would not surprise me to see him working in his new job as a door greeter in Vegas by April.
