Take your preconceived notions/agendas/feelings out of this. IF Fitzpatrick plays like he did the last two weeks against the Dolphins you think he should continue to start just because the alternative is Geno? Let's take the bias and agenda out of it for a second.

I don't think Smith should ever take another snap while wearing a Jets uniform.

I don't think Fitzpatrick has played badly, let alone badly enough to lose his job to someone who sucks as much as Smith does.

And if you took the bias and agenda out of your posts about Smith, you wouldn't have any posts left.

So if Geno played like Fitz has the last 2 weeks would you feel like he deserves to keep his job?

Smith Fans in the past have been disturbing, to think some portion of alleged Jet fans could be so stupid and obstinate.

Now they merely bore me. Any discussion of Smith and the Jets must be in the past tense as far as I am concerned.

Find someone else to play your contrarian game with.

No he didn't. He was too busy ripping defenses back in west virginia.

I'm just asking a question but I won't belabor the issue, I already have an idea what you would've wanted to happen, but you are tolerating shit play just because he isn't Geno it is what it is.

U high as shit. I'd never root against my team. I support whoever is out there unlike 95% of you people. What does my sig say? Is that against the rules because i'm a labeled "Genobot" lmao

    fair point.

So then, is the question, "Are we not benching Fitz BECAUSE it's Geno behind him?"

If that's the case, then Bowles is wrong. You can't preach accountability then exclude certain players from being accountable. (barring any superstars)

As a backup at backup money. He is a journeyman and that is all he will be.

If the refusal to bench fitz is because of smith than bowles/mac did the team a disservice. They saw enough of smith pre punch to know if they wanted to keep him and had an easy out when the punched occurred if they didn't. To keep someone at that position who you are afraid to play is just dumb. Especially when they are backing up a 10 year vet that has only played a full season once.

totally agree. Bowles said at the beginning of the season. "If we were winning wed stick with Ryan".......well now that we're not, what now?

I think Bowles is just being stubborn look at how he's handling other positions besides QB.
Good question but it's a moot point now I just hope Ryan can get his shit together and start playing better because Bowles will be trotting him out there no matter what.

This is a big week. Fitz doesn't play well in another loss and it will be a full blown qb controversy. Bowles better be quick and decisive with whatever he is going to do

Maybe but when the vast majority don't want to see Smith ever starting a game in a Jet uni. Than no..
PS he already named fitz as the starter. Only an injury will get geno a start.

Again I only see geno starting a game because of injury to fitz.
And I would root for him to win if he did start. Doesn't mean I see it happening.

I think Geno should start this week but I understand the decision to stick with Fitz. However if he puts up another stinker against the Dolphins, he's gotta be benched. I don't care who the backup is, if you lose 5 of 6 games and play poorly in most of them, you deserve to get benched. And if Geno is such a malcontent that the coaches aren't starting him because of his personality, then he shouldn't be on the roster to begin with.
