You're definitely misremembering Mangini's teams. They were torched by the Pats in the 2006 playoffs and torched again during the spygate game. They also barely showed up for the win and in game in Miami. They got blown out a few times during the 10-6 year and again in his last year so they definitely laid their share of eggs.

OK thanks. I still prefer Mangini over Rex, because Mangini at least acted like an adult with some sense and wasn't a bloviating blowhard clown.

it was a scary one extreme to the other situation. mangini was so close to the vest tied up dont speak to anyone ever or ill kill all of you and rex was the complete polar opposite.

i didnt really care for either of them and their way of handling the locker room and or the media. they were both very tough to stomach.

Call me crazy, but I think Mangini would be a good general manager or at least Director of Player Personnel. He seems to be a good talent evaluator.

He's too much of an oddly shaped hermit to be a good head coach. He seems like the type of guy that needs to get fatter and have excellent drafts in the process.

For all the Rex haters... Just Watch this Video

I was at the game and I will tell you that this was one of the loudest moments in JETS history when Flacco got Sacked and Fumbled .. The roar and energy all over was amazing...You know what?
    Rex brought that.

People forget what that was like and honestly I loved it.
Finally having at least some semblance of JETS pride..coming at you like a fuking Lion.... Yep, shit was pretty awesome.

Maybe it was one of the loudest moments, I can't speak to that. What I can speak to is that those kinds of moments happened too seldom. Rex talked tough and like his team would be very aggressive and beat people up, but when push came to shove, more often than not, he was too passive, too conservative and the team played not to lose, yet did. Rex was probably responsible for some of that noise and energy, but I submit that if the team had only lost 1-2 games at this point and was still creating TOs in bunches, the energy and noise would be just as loud.
