Not buying it. You spend the money we spent this offseason and start 4-1 to turn into a 5-5 joke we are I'm losing a bit of patience right now.
My best Jim Mora voice part 2 "Patience? Patience? Are you kidding me? Patience?" I've been waiting 40 fucking years Fuck this POS team and organization. Patience can go fuck off.
Bowles deserves a lot of crap today. He was badly out coached by Obrien. 17pts should have been enough to beat Houston
Bowles has had several crappy coaching performances on game day in his very short career; I wouldn't put this one on the list. It's fair to say Obrien out prepared him going into the game though.
If we didn't spend that type of money this offseason, yeah, I'd be happy with .500 right now... But when you bring back Cro and Revis and get guys like Gilchrist, Skrine, Ridley, Carp, Marshall, draft Smith, etc we shouldn't be losing like we have against sub-par, bad teams like Philly, Oakland, Buffalo, and especially Houston..
It wasn't so much about dumb decisions (other than not double-teaming Watt on TWO crucial third-down plays) as it was about the team not being prepared and making dumb mistakes like the delay of game penalty coming off a timeout or a false start coming off the two minute warning. Not to mention the effort level of the players has been VERY questionable in multiple games this season.
It'd be different if we were getting better. We're looking worse every week. Frankly, it's nauseating.
You throw the staff and the team a bone vs. Oakland. We were outplayed from the get go. We were in position to beat Buffalo, Philly and Houston. It's not so much THAT we're losing but the way we're losing. Not to mention the fact that for the most part the coaching staff seems to be sticking to their guns to an extent in not benching players. Demario Davis and Calvin Pace both need to sit and play mop up duty at this point. Cromartie should only play on kick returns. They actually did play Erin Henderson it looked like some snaps today but he should be given the chance to start. Same with Mauldin. There's no patience after a $100 million spend in the offseason. Bad drafting all those years is what should give the team a pass next year and years down the road. This year we have enough veterans still somewhat in their prime to the point where we shouldn't lose games like this. With that being said, we're still in position to push for a playoff spot if things break out way and the teams we lost to start losing. Bowles better start flipping some tables.
Not a good impression at this point man. Champs been in bed since 7:30. That post needs to come at 12, right after the Price is Right or at commercial breaks during the Life Alert commercials or a law firm urging you to sue your landlord for slipping on the sidewalk.
The problem is that we started 4-1. We can debate whether or not it was a mirage (it was) for the next 10.3 billion years, but the fact remains that, rightly or wrongly, it got everyone's expectations up. It got everyone hoping and dreaming of big things. So, now, it feels like a disaster. Just the way it is.
Calvin Pace would not have a job with any other team--the jets cling to the overmatched greybeards more than any organization in sports!
