I get what you're saying but of course they're gonna hype her up to make money. Women's mma is new to the ufc but it's been around for a while, there have been some really skilled chicks out there, Marloes Coenen had been one of my favorite fighters to watch including men, but none of them were dope enough to convince the ufc to open up a women's division until Rhonda so I'm giving her credit for that, that's part of the history Im talking about. and it's not like they've given her cupcake fights with nobodies they've tried to match her up with some big names she just crushed them. I agree the skill of the average pro female fighter will get better just like it did with the men's.

Joe Rogan: Ronda would beat 50% of the (boxing) bantamweight roster. "There's a lot of guys her size she could beat," said Rogan. "I mean, a lot. If you took the roster of the UFC's bantamweights, 135 pounds, and you paired them up against Ronda Rousey, she might be able to beat 50 percent of them. That's not a joke."

Dana White (on Floyd Merriweather: "Ronda wouldn't beat him, she would hurt him….she would hurt him badly."

Ronda Rousey (re: Floyd Merriweather): "Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match," she wrote.
"I unfortunately don't get into 'matches.' I fight for a living."
"In a no rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet."

Heavyweight title fight….er, match? "Match?" As in tennis anyone? I love how the UFC knuckle-draggers try to pawn off boxing as tea & crumpets …. when they're really taking swipes at the sweet science and using it so as to drum up business for themselves.

And on the other side of the fence:

Bob Arum (boxing promoter on MMA-UFC): "It’s horrible, guys rolling around like homosexuals on the ground. I mean, it is not a sport that shows great, great talent. The guys who throw punches can’t throw a punch to save their ass, and when the punches land the guys have no chins. These are not like boxers, they are not trained like boxers."

And on neither side of the fence, a non affiliated 3rd party opinion of Arum's assessment:

"Arum's right. MMA is two men ground fighting with one another in missionary and doggy style positions, performing rare naked chokes with their penises smashed up against another mans anus, looking like they are violently butt fucking one another. The triangle choke is having another mans face smashed up against your nut sack, like you are violently forcing him to suck your dick. The arm bar is like forcing the man to rub his elbow against your dick to get you to ejaculate on his arm. The guard position is when the man is on the bottom getting fucked. The mounted position is the missionary position."

And there you have it. o_O

Holly Holm absolutely owned her last night.

Shades of Rope' A Dope with Ali and Foreman

Holm ran circles around Rousey but continued to attack her. Rousey was out of her element and just got plain ass kicked.

    Holm deserves everything she gets!

If Arum's comments are retarded (and I'm not saying they aren't) then 'retard' holds true for both sides, i.e. White and Rousey's comments as well.

uhh no. Arum and his pal are just insulting towards and completely ignorant of the complexities of ground fighting and the sport of Jiu Jitsu. White and Rouseys comments are right on. Mayweather would 100% get his ass beat in an mma fight. He doesn't train takedowns, he doesn't train the ground. That's where he'd end up and that's where he'd get finished.

And a cage is much different than a ring. In a cage you will get clinched up and pushed against it. An mma clinch is much different than a boxing clinch. you will get kneed and elbowed and upper uppercutted and taken to the ground. A pro mma fighter has no chance winning a pure boxing match in a ring vs a pro boxer and a pro boxer has no chance winning an mma fight vs a pro mma fighter. They are different sports. Well the mma guy would have a chance cuz at least they train the boxing, whereas huge parts of the sport of mma are not trained by boxers at all. The comparison is ignorant. Imagine me saying a baseball pitcher can beat an NFL defense playing QB. That's how stupid you sound.

    Ehhhh...

Fuck boxing. As much as I have a problem with the way Dana White runs UFC, I find boxing 10 times more corrupt and a 10th as entertaining.

Anybody that spends 100 dollars on PPV to watch Floyd Mayweather hug-dance someone... Lmao.

I wouldn't spend a dime on a Floyd PPV let alone $100, because well, if I'm dropping $100 on something it's not going to be that. As for corrupt that's always been an unfortunate part of the game, dives, judges robbing a fighter (Marques-Manny Pacquiao, Felix Trinidad-Oscar, Castillo-Floyd. As for more entertaining, while a dog's a dog regardless of what the discipline is and not worth watching, I'll take a great heavyweight fight over a great MMA tilt - but that's me.

Different sports? No shit Sherlock. And I was focusing more on Dana's White and Ronda Rousey's comments about how she'd kick Floyd Merriweather's ass, stupid.

    Go ahead then.

Explain to me how pretty boy Floyd can stay on his feet against an Olympian judo player.

Explain how someone that hasn't trained any ground technique at all would survive more than sixty seconds versus someone that has devoted their life to submission fighting.

    Here goes.

The same way this female can't get him off his feet with a glove exploding in her face at warp speeds the likes of which she's never seen.

By the same token, she could eat leather for 60 seconds? Like this guy's just standing there like a stump?….like a boxer let alone a speedster like Merriweather doesn't have any movement skills….like she's stronger than him….like he's not (by far) the superior athlete.

Lmao please, Floyd is a points fighter. He'd clinch up like he always does and then it's game over. besides if she was smart she'd leg kick the shit out of him first.

I wonder what kind of kickback from Vegas Dana got for hyping the shit out of Ronda? Probably more money than he has paid to every class champion in the past 5 years combined.

I don't really care much about boxing or MMA but sorry mangolden I don't see Rousey getting through 1 round with Mayweather. Even if I avoid the huge issue that its a female vs. a male athlete - Rousey couldn't take a punch from another broad. But She's going to stand strong while a champion male boxer punches her in the mouth? hell no. That would be ugly

Clinch? Exactly what punch combination onslaught would your woman hero drum up prompting such a circle the wagon-type defense? If I remember correctly, the vagina-equipped Rousey nearly fell over herself when the similarly vagina-appointed female boxer Holly Holm easily dodged her "could see it coming a mile away" left. So, facing the same, Merriweather would be just standing there like a deer caught in the headlights?

Looking at this from the other side.....exactly how does your woman hero champion handle Merriweather firing off speed shots one after another and snapping a less athletic, weaker, much slower "chick's" head backwards if not onto her sweet and shaply callipygian ass altogether?

You're a human cockfighting, pretzel-logic "figure 4-on-the-floor" noogie-artist aficionado.....I get it. And I'm sure after dispatching "pretty boy" Floyd, you'd have her putting Amir Khan out of his misery as well. Me? I think the only question would be (if big John McCarthy weren't around) whether or not Khan got her pregnant.....lmao please yourself.

I've competed in both sports, I have a lot of respect for both. No boxer is going to win an mma fight vs a pro mma fighter if they never train mma. Holly was a world class boxer AND kickboxer who then went and trained and fought mma for 5 years before this fight compiling a 9-0 mma record. She had great takedown defense, great kicks, and took advantage of Rousey's ego. Leg kicks are the best counter to a great boxer but Rousey was at a disadvantage there as well because Holly is also a sick kickboxer. You can't shoot recklessly for takedowns against a kickboxer either because you don't want to eat a foot or knee to the face. Floyds a better boxer than holly obviously but until he trains takedowns and kicks he'd be lost in an mma fight. Floyd has zero grappling experience, any average wrestler could take him down at this point. That's my last word on it.

I've competed in boxing, beginning when I was 10 and got into Taekwondo in my 20's. While my taekwondo training was not nearly as lenghty as boxing, it was helped by my football skills (strong safety/punter on a D-1 level). All that aside, this all gets back to your contention that Ronda Rousey would destroy Floyd Merriweather (via kick/grappeling argument). Hollly Holm may be a kick boxer and is a badass babe in her own right, as but the fact remains: Rousey got knocked out by a woman. Big difference than a much faster, much, much more athletically talented male in the form of Merriweather.
