Child please. We might not make the playoffs, but all three of the teams you mentioned have serious warts just like us. Have a little faith Brother!
What does this say about everyone else? The bills actually lost to Jacksonville. They beat the titans by 1 point. The raiders lost to the bears and allowed 600 yards of offense yesterday. The steelers lost to the Ravens and Chiefs. The whole afc has cracks except for the patriots and bengals.
I usually denounce people for overstating the importance of every game, but I don't mind calling this one huge. It's the difference between a 2 game lead over Buffalo or being tied with them. Separating from the pack or falling into the thick of it. The winner of this game dramatically increases their playoff odds.
Exactly. It's almost a 3 game swing because they play at New England next and would have 3 division losses. Also, 5 of their next 6 games are on the road.
I think we have a good chance on Thursday but I don't think we are going to fare well down the stretch this season. It is difficult to pick us to beat any team with a good QB the rest of the way, and I think we will take losses to the Giants, Cowboys, and Pats down the stretch. At Buffalo is also a tough closing game. I'd still lean 9-7 as our final record, but for first time I think 8-8 is also in play. Will that be enough in a mediocre AFC wildcard race? Possibly. Ben's injury certainly helps.
I think our nagging injuries are really starting to catch up to us. Everybody has them but ours are to some crucial parts. Mangold ivory fitz Marshall, decker. Not having these guys 100% really saps at our strengths and our designed game strategy. Pound it, set up passed to our powerful receivers, play stout D. With all these injuries it's difficult to set up our style game. Our D can keep us in but if we aren't scoring, see above we are gonna be in trouble.
no chance to make it at 9 wins. Oakland has the tiebreaker. they probably win 10 but would get ahead of us with 9. steelers also should get to 9 or 10 wins we need to be nearly perfect. 4-2 at the absolute least to get into the playoffs. and probably need to go 5-1. with the pats left we have almost no margin for error. this was a devestating loss for us. we need this win
Too bad we have 7 games left? Houston Titans Miami Buffalo Pats Dallas Giants Steelers difficult games include: (5-5) Cleveland - no Big Ben this week @ Cinci Broncos @ Ravens Oakland's difficult games include: (4-4) Vikings Lions -- This isn't difficult, but I can see Stafford throwing all over that secondary @ Denver Packers Chargers Buffalo's Difficult Games Include: (5-4) @ Pats @ Philly Dallas Jets
After this week (with next two opponents): Steelers 6-4 (bye next week, at Seattle) Bills 5-4 (at Pats, at Chiefs) Jets 5-4 (at Texans, Miami) Raiders 4-5 (at Lions, at Titans) Dolphins 4-5 (vs Cowboys, at Jets) Chiefs 4-5 (at Chargers, Bills) If the Jets can win next week, they'd be back in the driver's seat for a wild card spot as they'd have the tie breaker over Pitt. Bottom line is Jets need to win the next two to get to 7-4 to have a realistic chance. Its quite possible that the Bills lose the next two.
I look at this as five teams fighting for one spot...because Steelers look really good with Ben back....Dolphins game scares me a little
I have this bad feeling that the Bills are going to knock us out of the playoffs the last week of the season. Sweet revenge for Rex, heartache for us.
The Jets are only 4 games back of the Patriots for the AFC East lead. Just kidding, that's over. WILD CARD: 5. Steelers (6-4) 6. Bills (5-4) ____________ 7. Jets (5-4) 8. Raiders (4-5) 9. Dolphins (4-5) 10. Chiefs (4-5) It should be interesting down the stretch for sure, but the Jets could have made things much easier with a win Thursday. But hey, that is not the Jets way.
I think we need to concede a spot to the Steelers. That offense is ridiculous when Ben's healthy. The only team I'm really worried about is Buffalo, but if KC plays anything like they did, today, they could definitely lose that game in two weeks. Our season might hinge on the Texans game.
Steelers are hedging towards lock status. Ben is just such a good player, they will find their way to at least 9 wins. Our schedule still has 3 games we should win (Texans, Titans, and Phins). I would say we are underdogs in the other 4, although that assumes Romo is back healthy for the Cowboys when we play them. Odds are we go 2-1 in the gimmie games and find a way to win 1 of the 4 difficult ones. Best guess is 8-8 and likely miss out to the Bills.
I pray Brady can still beat the bills without edelman.. we could jump right back in the WC lead with them losing and us winning.
