I thought Bowles out coached Rex.. Not his fault Devin Smith can't hold onto the fucking football. Decker & Marshall both had key drops. Ivory fumbles etc. There was poor execution by the players. As for going for it on the 4th down plays? I'll never criticize a coach for making the aggressive decision. Kicking field goals is for losers. Especially when you are down 22-10 or when you are down 22-17 late with momentum and you just got the ball at the 10 yard line. Field goals there do nothing but get us closer to losing the game. I thought going for it was the right, ballsy call in both situations. If you wanna get down on Gailey for some of the playcalling that's fine though haha, there was some dubious play calls
We didnt have a franchise QB in 2009 -10 when we should have seen back to back superbowls. So let's not act like it isn't possible,it used to happen a lot more years ago these days it doesn't happen as much
Yep. This is what happens when a rookie HC takes over a 12-4 team and loses games. Should have hired Bill Walsh or Vince Lombardi instead. Todd Bowles will never be the Super Elite Coach Rex Ryan is... Proof is right there.
That pass was actually perfect and it went right through his hands then he tipped it and it got picked... usually that's the WR's fault. Marshall did that multiple times yesterday.
Thing that kills me about jets fans.. why can't you just be mad for the week about a performance? Even though i think a lot of you are really overreacting on the coaching staff why does it have to go to the extreme? Bowles and Gailey should be fired? really? are they that bad? think about it... U can't pick sides when you play the blame game. Marshall fucked up big plays, Decker made but still fucked up some big plays, Kellen davis fucked up the biggest play, as well as Revis played he fucked up a big play, Ivory and devin smith if anybody should be the ones ya hate right now... bills might not even put up a touch down had these idiots not fumbled. but see you guys just wanna blame the coaching staff instead of calling it like it is.. We played a good game, the players were in multiple good positions to take it but didn't.... we lost, we fucked up, on to houston.
That's always been the story of the Jets. Poor execution, then fans go and blame the coaching staff for everything. Poor execution last night by the Jets on all 3 phases of the game.
Agree, drops were horrendous yesterday. decker on 4th and 2 Marshall on the 1st pick Marshall on the deep pass late Kerley on the 3rd-10 that wouldve been a first down. Not that Fitz was playing lights out, but his WRs didnt do him any favors that game
So many missed opportunities. Decker should've had 2 TDs yesterday, that one back shoulder throw in the EZ - was like inches away from him.
pretty much the entire premise. The claim that "were not going to win a superbowl with this QB" is an enormous cop out. just because we wont win a superbowl doesnt mean that all things short of that are equal. making the playoffs matters. getting this team playing well matters. How many weeks in a row do we have to live through horrible open field fumbles? how was this not cleaned up weeks ago? it isnt like these are strip sack fumbles on the QB or something unavoidable. kick returns, WR's in the open field after the catch. inexcusable fumbles. How many games have we had end on a penalty, where we would have had 1 final shot to win? How many close/late games has clock management been an issue? How many times has this team made the wrong call late in a game? We are 6-4. the difference of us making the playoffs or not will likely come down to 1 game. we should be 7-3 at the very least, and probably should be 8-2. Oakland will win 10 games and have the tiebreaker. Pittsburg looks headed for 10 wins as well. we need to go at LEAST 4-2 the rest of the way and probably 5-1. with the pats still left on our schedule there is almost no room for error in those other 5 games. If the coaching doesnt get drastically better it will cost us the playoffs.
the defense gave up 7 points last night. the defense was elite. the turnovers killed us. we didnt allow them anything but FGs after the turnovers, and the TD was scored on the fumble on the kickoff. D has done its job outside of the oakland game. turnovers and untimely pentalties and head scratching coaching decisions have been our undoing
Fitzpatrick did not play a flawless game. but i mean honestly he wasnt all that bad. i though he played a solid game. its tough to get things going on offense when your team turns it over, turns it over again on the insuing kickoff, then the other team gets the ball at halftime, then you fumble on the first run play after that. Lets not forget some of the big plays fitz made. that 4th down throw to decker on the out/corner route was absolutely pin point perfect with no room for error. then the TD into a tight window right after that. might have also had the game winnign touchdown if kellen davis played more like kellen winslow and less like hellen keller
Well coached teams execute well coached teams dont constantly fumble week after week well coached teams show up prepared and hungry this team is not well coached.
Team sucked yesterday from top to bottom, that about sums it up. Bad turnovers, bad drops, stupid play calling (the WR screens that failed at least 4 times pissed me off so much), stupid game management, the list goes on. Although, I do agree, this team is never going anywhere without an elite QB. Years come and go and it's the same thing every time. No matter how good the rest of the team is, if your QB is average or worse, you're not going anywhere... With a little bit of luck, you may win a couple playoff games, but no way you're winning a SB. A good QB may give you a chance. Otherwise you need Great if you want to truly contend.
You completely missed my point perhaps because I laid on the sarcasm awfully thick. My assertion was that the OP was off base in suggesting that solid QB play was a bigger contributing factor than the insipid offensive play calling in the loss. Moreover, I will add that overall the play from the team in general wasn't horrible. There were some mistakes and drops but given the closeness of the game in the second half completely manageable with competent coaching. Decker and Mo played out of their minds. Bohannon and Skrine played well and Fizpatrick played how we expected him to play (better than anyone else we've had in 10 years). Furthermore, Rex coached apparently slightly less badly. I see he still doesn't grasp the use of timeouts and challenges and other finer points of game management like declining penalties when appropriate. Still, as badly as Rex caoched the Bills, Todd coached the Jets even worse. Completely squandered an opportunity to grind that team into the turf. This team needs to get their collective ass's in gear quickly for any shot at an off-season but I won't be holding my breath. One last thing, how does Woody escape the wrath of the Jets' fan base year after year? This guy has yet to make a winning formula.
lmao what? We fumble week after week? really? name one fumble outside of last nights game and the Redskins game back in week 5. Fitz fumbled early in the pats game thats it. We weren't prepared? we didn't give up any points until we gift wrapped some for them... things happen. Coaches don't make players fumble. This team aint well coached huh? Then why have we only allowed 10 points in the 3rd quarter this whole year? You don't think Todd Bowles makes adjustments at half time do ya? no way huh? ohhh ok. If ivory didn't fumble (he got muscled for the ball but according to you that was Todd Bowles fault? ) Bowles called the right defenses and clamped down buffalo to the point where they werent even getting first downs... and we got in the red zone twice to win the game.. players didnt execute well.. but that's all todd bowles fault. lmao you a funny guy
