So tell me that next week when he doesn't fumble!

Don't criticize people's mistakes because of the result of the play.

Edit: fucking seriously. What is the point of taking about his decision to return the ball AFTER he fumbles if NOBODY was going to mention it if he DIDNT fumble???

How does that help the discussion?? What's the fucking point?

You want to discuss bringing out the football from 4 yards deep? Let's discuss that shit. I'm ready. Let's talk about whether it's good football or not.

Why wait for a fumble to kill him?

If it's a terrible decision, where Are all the threads from previous week's when our guy returned the kick from 4 yards deep???

    Where are they? Hypocrites, man.

Ok. I feel better. Love ya, tubs.

Sorry. I'm drunk and emotional. And angry.

    Hence my point.

This is not high school you can just run by people without setting it up.

He's not a "ball in space" guy. He's an underrated route runner with speed. It's time for Gailey to use him like such rather than just a one trick pony.

Madden has a 76.3 winning %, is the youngest coach to win 100 games, won a Super Bowl, is an NFL hall of fame coach, and cooks and amazing turducken (no veggies) so GFY!

The bottom line is he hasn't done shit on offense....I'm not blaming it all on the rookie but playmakers make plays and he hasn't made one yet even by accident

When you have to run 15-20 yards HORIZONTALLY to CATCH the kickoff, and you're still in the end zone, most KRs with a brain would take a knee. It wasn't just that it was "4 yards deep," as you say--it's WHERE on the field he got it and how far he had to go just to catch the kickoff. There should have been no fumble because there should have been no return. Simple as that. And you call me idiotic? Your "contribution" as you label it didn't convince me that Smith should have stayed put and taken a knee.

In football it's not as simple as "playmakers make plays". I thought that one catch he made on what I believe was his only target was a pretty big play. Side note your extreme stance on him is making me sound like a Smith apologist when in fact I was "meh" about us drafting him. The funny thing about many Jets fans' view of Smith is that they think he is much faster than he actually is and he is a much better all around receiver than they give him credit for.

If you think John Madden made televised football a better thing for working brains, then I can only accept your GFY and wish you the best moving forward. God bless.

ONE decent catch for a 1st down.....I think Bohanon has been more effective this season

Why are people defending Smith? I see rookie WRs all over the league making great plays this season and last, and not just 1st rounders either

He can turn it around but the results have been garbage so far

All I said from the beginning is I don't believe he's ready for the league yet.....getting hurt early in TC hurt him alot IMO

He hasn't done a thing on offense in a decent amount of opportunities.....Again, not all his fault but you gotta atlest put some blame on him

Just tell me you would have started a thread if he didn't fumble, and I will apologize and refrain from further comment.

Madden was amazing entertainment, I wish he was still on air. Now I have to listen to Chris Cocksinmouth every week.

About a week ago I pined for Devon Smith to return punts/KO's. Good hands, speed, SOMETHING/ANYTHING to justify his roster spot. Someone (Ballhawk?) called me out on the concept. You were right. I was wrong.

We can agree that collinsworth is awful.

With all due respect, I'll assume you were very young when madden was saying "boom" and very little else of substance while commentating.

Im not even gonna kill Smith , Im just tired of taking projects and one trick ponies so high in the draft.

A 2nd round pick should be able to come in and help your team that year. I know he was hurt but he wasnt on track to be a major contributor Week 1 even if he was healthy.

Start drafting all around players and things will change for the better.

What we're arguing about is actually very important for our culture.

But I know what you're saying. Yeah, madden won a super bowl, and that shit ain't easy. Point taken.

    You're good too, dude.
