We play the Bills last week of the regular season. Split with the bills and we are still good. Assumption being we keep pace. Lose and we are tied by record, with then having the head to head - for now. Split with bills and we are good to go. Not much competition elsewhere. We gain more - a lot more - with a win than we lose with a loss. Truth.
Well of course mathematically it's not, but let's be honest the wildcard is down to the Raiders, Buffalo, Steelers, and the Jets, two of those teams now hold a tie-breaker over the Jets, this was a must win.
The reality is this, we play bills again so the tie breaker doesn't matter with them. Let's see how the raiders and steelers do this weekend before people start crying. Bills next two games are at pats and at chiefs. They could be 5 and 6 before Dec 1.
If we won tonight , and stood at 6-3 , 10 wins and a playoff spot was a real strong possibility. But now the Bills and Oakland hold tiebreakers over us. And if the season comes down to Week 17 in Buffalo for the playoffs , then we arent going to the playoffs.
look at everyone's schedules we are tied by record w buffalo. they have to 1-keep up the torrid pace and 2-win/tie week 18. thats tough
I have. Buffalo has a very tough remaining schedule. If I had to predict right now I would say they arent making the playoffs. But thats doesnt say much about the Jets cause they could've buried them tonight as well as cementing themselves in that 5th spot in the AFC. Which in all likelyhood gets you a trip to whatever shit team wins the AFC South. 6th seed gets you Denver. But I cant be too motivated about playoff position after a garbage game like tonight.
Jets are still very much alive.....The Raiders looked great against us but they're an average team overall. Pittsburgh is really banged up and Buffalo can lose against anyone We still have a pretty easy schedule and will go to the playoffs if we prove that we deserve it Tough loss but Buffalo needed and wanted it more than us
