That's like asking, "why did the dog chase the car or bite the man?"

can think back as far as 2009, naming Kevin O'Connell as captain against New England, even tho there was no chance he would play being our 3rd string QB..
no one had a problem with it then, and i still don't have a problem with it now.

he's been doing this since he's been a HC.

more condescending than a 3rd string QB being named Captain? or more than Incognito?
i think the only thing that is different is which sideline we are sitting on.

some fans and media are way overreacting if you ask me.
Bowles, the players, even Geno doesn't seem too bothered by it.

well we know he's been consistent with this captain naming thing, so it doesn't come across as some intentionally disrespectful act towards Geno.

but really it's no big deal, as it's just a coin flip at the end of the day.
irrelevant to what will determine the winner of this game.

I don't think he's ever done it in a respectful manner.

    The more condescending, the better.

If the Bills play the Steelers this year, he'd put a dog out there for the toin coss if Vick were playing.

Imagine if Geno was the starting QB and a captain though...good lord there'd be more eyeballs on that pregame handshake than there were on the Belichick/Mangini postgame ones.

When you cut a guy because you think he's not good enough to play on your team, then if his new team makes him a captain, it's an annoying tweak, but that's something you accepted when you cut him.

When you cut a guy because he's in the center of a major, "black-eye to the team" scandal (Incognito) or because he punched a teammate (I.K.), you're cutting him because he acted outside the boundary of the behavior requirements in his contract. It's not equal to cutting guy based on your assessment of his talent.

What if the Bills picked up Ray Rice? What would the reaction be if Rex made him captain against the Ravens? Should Hardy be captain against the Panthers?

It's a dick move. I didn't like it when he did it for the Jets.

the guy was coach for five years, it's kind of hard to people to stop talking about him. especially when he was a massive media target and turned the jets into a team of clowns.
