Stafford has started the last 72 games. His OL has been mostly dogshit since he's been drafted and he's had the shit kicked out of him this year. I thought he'd be a much better QB by now. Hard to say if its on him or the inept franchise for plays for. I can tell you that the last two years have been mostly on the Lombardi and Caldwell regime. I can't give you one offensive player who has improved under their guidance in that time.
Stafford will be right where he is today at the start of next season. I don't think he is great by any stretch of imagination but he would be a huge upgrade for the Jets for sure. He is not going anywhere though and will be right back in the starting lineup for Detroit opening day next season.
Many of the vet QBs that will become available require more unconventional schemes for staffs to unlock their potential, and there's a higher risk of that not working out (WAS, SF), but a higher reward (CAR). Current staff (Gailey) don't have much experience with that, and it's really unknown as to whether he can adapt his scheme. Contrast that with Stafford, who can fit into a fairly conventional pro scheme. Also, trading for Stafford doesn't necessarily preclude picking up another late round project (if the Jets need someone else other than Petty). It's a long shot that Stafford becomes available, but he's certainly worth checking out. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
I've never said on here that Geno was good all I ever said he hasn't had enough time with some good talent. I'm just glad your not the GM of this team.
Jason Cole reporting Jets would be interested in Stafford. Jason Cole is wrong 100% of the time. But I hope he's right.
Its going to be a bidding war for him Otherwise, why would the Lions just give up on him ? Assuming Jets have to give up at least one number 1 if not more.
Hes worth it. I dont need to remind you of our last few 1st rounders.... We spent alot of money on WRs to catch the ball........no money on a way to get them the ball. Decker and Marshall barely stretch their legs with all these short routes. As soon as we get someone with a cannon we start winning games. Cant win games when you consistently score less than 3tds per
Still don't get why there were people saying no to this. He's a top 7-10 talent playing for a shitty team.
I lived in RiverVale NJ for almost 20 years and from Thanksgiving till March and sometimes April the weather was usually shitty. In Dec/Jan/Feb the last year I was there (10 years ago), it snowed every F day so ... he is correct the weather is a factor.
yes and his inclination to throw INTs, be a one read QB, show a total - as in total - lack of awareness in the pocket and ability to read defenses... but what the hell he should be given another shot... Hopefully someplace else
