Everyone called it when he was signed. I see nothing wrong here.

Bowles should name Geno co-captain and have them face off at the 50.

Second only to the surprise that Rex actually signed IK.

Rex is the guy that keeps saying telling the same lame ass joke over and over and insists it's still funny...

I am as big a rex fan as there is but this is as big a bush play as anybody could dream up and i hope it fires up every jet on the field if he actually goes through with it. maybe we will actually play a game for the first time in 4 weeks.

Given all our injuries and the short rest, I was resigned to probably losing this game. But after this sophomoric nonsense, I will be really fucking pissed if we lose.

I'm just nervous the drunk idiots at Metlife will cheer IK when he walks out for the coin toss. That should fit right in with the Jets and Jets fans making us a national laughing stock on Thursday nights.

Yup, 5 seconds after the news broke and Ik's NFL career was 'over' I said he'd be a captain for the Bills on Thursday night. I was joking of course but here it is!

How is this different from what he did in New York? He's always picked players for captains based on who we were playing and old rivalries/teammates.

Before anyone thinks this will 'motivate' the Jets, keep in mind 90% of the locker room loves the guy.

IK will probably jump to grab that coin as soon as it's tossed. "There Geno, now you only owe me $599.75"

And if IK WASN'T named a captain, people who would be bitching out Rex for that too. Since Rex invariably names his captains based on their former teams, not naming IK captain would still be a story. No-win for Rex.

Hopefully the no-win carries into Thursday night.

I used to scratch my head when he would pull this crap as our coach because if anything, it gave the other team motivation to play hard and potentially humiliate us. Now that we are on the other end of it, I'm fine with it. Commence with the foot jokes and let's deliver a beat down at home on Thursday night!

I'm in the minority and think its a good move by Rex--the NYJ knows that GS is a POS and would rather have IK on the squad--it fcks with their minds and that's advantage BUFF. I don't think this motivates NYJ at all. All this said, I think we come away with a win because we match up well against them. IMO

The thing that I love is that he's publicly said multiple times that Woody had no choice but to fire him and he agrees with the decision because the same head coach can't survive 3 GMs, but he'll still spew bullshit to his team about how "these guys fired me" and "go get them back for me". Any nonsense he can come up with to fire up his team 6-8 times a year. It's the only reason he's still a coach.
