I am pretty sure someone predicted this was going to happen when the bills first picked him up, 10 minutes after the jets cut him
Who cares? Geno isn't our starting QB, IK should be honored by us as well because it led way to Fitzpatrick being the starter.
I think a classier and more likely thing to happen than naming Geno a captain is naming Fitz a captain. Like hey, remember that noodle arm short guy your organization couldn't win any games with? He's 5-2 for us. And no one would question naming the starting QB a captain.
didn't he do the same when with the Jets with making former Pats players team captains? I don't reacall anyone going nuts about it then.
Rex doing something that Jose Mourinho would find in poor taste. Bowles won't even dignify this action by making Geno captain.... and he shouldn't. GFU Rex.
all I am saying is there is nothing new in this - this is from an article in 2011 - "A variety of factors such as a player’s performance at practice that week, or even a player’s history with an opponent and/or host city in road games can go into Ryan’s decision as to who will be his captain(s) any given week."
He always did it with players of former teams. Not just ex-Pats. The thing I'm least worried about with this game is who the captains are.
The punch also factored into him even wanting to sign IK in the first place too IMO. Rex loves a storyline.
not at all, I am just saying he has always done things like this - it never seemed to bother our opponents and I don't see why it would bother us - given how they took apart the Phins on Sunday I am more concerned by the state of our secondary than I am who their captains are
shocker. so glad we are done with this cutesy made for TV bullshit here. although I did laugh my ass off at this
At the beginning of this season, none of us gave the Jets much of a chance to beat the Bills in this game. Says a lot that we should be competitive even with our injuries. Like you, I really DGAF who the captains are for either team and because of the "color rush", I might not watch it from start to finish. Frankly, with this new mindset TB has groomed into this team's collective outlook, there's not much that's gonna get them riled up or worried about. If anything, it will be Rex that will turn this game into the Rex's Last Stand at the Little Meadowlands Swamp.
