Trust me brother, I felt the same way. I love Leonard but he hasn't improved our pass rush at all and we were already an elite run defense without him.

Gurley would've helped this team more than Leonard Williams has.

I'm sure every team would love to have Gurley at this point. I doubt he'd have been very productive for us yesterday though.

Well maybe for you it doesn't hold water. Last year the Jets were 4-12, so there's no reason to assume Ivory's rushing stats had any correlation to wins. However, in the Jets first seven games when Ivory rushed for more than 50 yards the Jets won, less than 50, the Jets lost. If you're a D coordinator and you don't think that's significant, you probably won't be a D coordinator for very long. You're right about Fitzpatrick not scaring anyone, his capabilities are well known, so he's not an open book. So when you pick one offensive player on the Jets that you need to stop, Ivory is obvious choice. Yes, he's playing hurt, but so are 90% of the other players in the league.

Do you understand that it actually takes some decent blocking for him to do well? And do you understand that with decent blocking Ivory has put up the same numbers for us? What are you even talking about?

You got that right. Saw him at least 4 or 5 times yesterday standing around with that just shit his pants body language, because he just got smoked. Noticing that a lot more lately than normal. Oline needs some off season attention.

Run blitzes, loaded boxes...just a multitude of things. He looked healthy yesterday, but you can't get hit in the backfield every play and expect greatness. Would be nice to run some 1st down play actions to at least keep them honest.

was really tough watching brick get beat like that.. then committed the 15 yard unecessary roughness penalty out of frustration because he got beat.

The excuses for Ivory are ridiculous, 26 yards on 23 carries? He's now sub 4 ypc and an offensive liability. Sometimes a back has to actually make a play, break a tackle, two things Ivory has not been able to do for nearly a month. If he can't carry the ball sit his ass down and let someone else try.

yesterday's game didn't. in fact ivory doesn't make me feel that way either... Todd Gurley does ^_^.

U got the best thing since sliced bread in Gurley

and u got Melvin Gordon, who has been trying to be the best Trent Richardson he can possibly be.

But when he got screen passes he was effective. it's clearly the 0-line. we've all seen ivory average 5 YPC behind a shitty o-line, thats why he's always top 3 in yards after contact. He needs colon and mangold so he can run up the middle and actually get a lane.

I'm still not sure if Ivory or OL is the bigger culprit. It's very concerning though. Fitzpatrick has played well but we can't ask him to carry this team against good opponents.

I just think it's time for the philosophy to change. This is the best passing offense Ive seen the jets have since Favre was under center. Fitz is no world beater but the guy has shown he can run an offense and hit the mismatches.

I think we need to start airing it out and let it set up the run game instead of running it nearly every first down. It's the way most NFL teams are nowadays, it's time for the Jets to get with the times.

When we are in a run play Fitz needs to have other options. Audible out with 9 men in the box and use the one on one decker or Marshall matchup. I like those chances better then running Ivory right into a 9 man wall.

According to this board the only ones worthy of drafting first round are defensive ends and defensive backs. Any request to draft offense is shouted down. "Must draft best player available and not need"... We committed a decade to drafting defense and we have a ho-hum defense and largely middling offense piece mealed from aging vets in free agency. It hasn't been a recipe for success, but under Bowles it won't be any different. I expect another defensive end in the first round.

Whatever, draft day I wanted Gurley, I've wanted Mike Evans, every year I want a big splash pick at WR or RB and every fucking year I'm lambasted with reasons why we had to draft Kyle Wilson, Leo Williams, Calvin Pryor, Dee Milliner, Quinton Coples, Vernon Gholston, etc...

Keyshawn Johnson was our last big splash offensive player (other than Sanchez). Keyshawn fucking Johnson that was almost 20 years ago!

    Maybe it's not your picks.

    Maybe it's you.

If our 2016 draft picks don't include LT, RT, LG, RG and C, I'm going to pay for a "Bring Idzik back" billboard.
