I was rooting for Miami today, then I remembered, Rex can't win 2 in a row.

Looking like a Pitt win. How does that impact the playoff scensrio

If Ben is out looks like Pitt will have a tougher time getting wins.

Taking a win away from the raiders benefits us as well

I think it keeps us in the drivers seat for the 5 seed with the Raiders getting their 4th loss.

This game is huge because the Jets could open a sizable lead on everyone. With a win, the Jets would be 6 and 3. They would then have 10 days until Houston (who plays on Monday night and has a short week).

Bills would be 4 and 5 with the next game at New England. They'd be looking to go 4 and 6.

Raiders (4-4) get the 6 and 2 Vikings next. A loss here would be great because they have two easy games after that.

Steelers are without Ben for the game against Cleveland, so its possible they lose. It would be their 5th AFC loss, which helps in the event of a tie breaker. They haven't played any of their division opponents on the road, so they might pick up other AFC losses.

KC is at Denver. Miami is at Eagles.

Best Case Scenario going in the Nov 22 game against Houston:
    Jets 6-3
Steelers 5-5 (bye, then at Seattle)
Raiders 4-5 (at Lions, at Titans)
Bills 4-5 (at Patriots, at KC)
    Miami 3-6
    KC 3-6

In this scenario, the Jets would go to Houston at 6-3. Steelers don't play that day, so the Jets could extend their lead to 7-3. Going into Nov 29. Jets would be 7-3 home vs Miami, while Pitt would be 5-5 going to Seattle.

Worst Case Scenario going into the Nov 22 game:
    Steelers 6-4
    Raiders 5-4
    Jets 5-4
    Bills 5-4
    Miami 4-5
    KC 4-5

Jets would just get jammed in with everyone.

Right now the 4 teams fighting for 2 spots are the Jets, Steelers, Bills and Raiders. Still another half of a season to play though. This doesn't need to be said, but a Jets win on Thursday would be HUGE.

If the Jets can maintain the 1st wildcard spot, they will be playing an AFC central team for the first game.

This would be a very favorable match up.

Don't underestimate the 1992 Oilers. They were no joke.

The run and shoot. I loved Ernest Givens. Huge used to do that slide when he scored.....

I don't see us getting in the playoffs this year. Raiders and Steelers are better, Bills are probably better than us when healthy as well.

In all seriousness, this is not a playoff team right now. We're very lucky we didn't lose yesterday and this offense looks bad without Ivory at full strength. Defense has big time cracks as well.
