Unfortunately there is not a politician out there, under any color hat, who has the balls to say they can't cut taxes without making these cuts in service. So instead they just lead the sheep to slaughter with more "read my lips" messages.

Yes, there are actually millions of people out there who believe this nonsense and back a candidate because he says he'll cut taxes.

Instead of the juvenile, potty-mouth rant why not address the substance of the statement?

Why do you bother to interject when you've made it clear you don't care about politics in the very country you live in? Your simile is worthless and quite sad for a 55 year old "man"

No, actually you addressed anyone that has engaged in this discussion by saying, "this whole discussion"...

Lmao what would your children think? Their father spends his nights sitting at his computer telling strangers to "grow a sack".

My kids are just fine no need to worry about them dickhead.

And I'm on my iPhone watching the Talking Dead because the GF insists.

No need to worry about me either. I'm just fine too.

Go gnash your teeth about some idiocy you'll grow out of once you grow up.

Maybe because I tried to discuss it and he just decided to call me an idiot. It was obvious at that point there would be no rational discussion.

True, I normally don't bother. Not like anything of substance actually comes out of his posts.

I keep hearing this, but it's not true. Rand Paul proposes a balanced budget yearly with all the service cuts.

Reagan did this also with his tax cuts. However passing the spending cuts is nearly impossible after the election is over. The tax cuts get passed because that's easy to do and then the deficit balloons because you can't get the spending cuts alongside them except for low-hanging fruit not attached to voters.

Education spending is what got cut in the Reagan regime. Welfare is what got cut in the Clinton regime. There's no low-hanging fruit left.

What is going to have to get cut this time is Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid and Military and Security related spending. They're going to have to get rid of things like the mortgage deduction.

You could abolish about half the cabinet departments, including HEW and Energy and HUD and you wouldn't get anywhere near balancing the budget.

That's why I agree with you that tax cuts need to be tied to spending cuts - by law. You want to cut taxes, great! Now cut the spending you need to cut to prevent creating more deficit when you reduce revenue.

Really we need to increase revenue right now but with a moratorium on non-emergency related spending increases. Waiting for the next bubble to get the finances back in order is a pipe dream. We're more likely to see a major Black Swan, like the US losing the status of the world's reserve banker, which would cripple our ability to actually do anything and probably trigger inflation in a huge way.
