Why isnt this post bumped after Mariota's bad games? Not for nothing but I could probably throw for 300 and 3 scores against the Saints defense.
Lol. The Titans haven't even utilized Marjota's legs or mobility yet. He's done much of his damage from the pocket, unlike RG3 (who would still be very good if his confidence wasn't shot).
He's had one bad game and he was hurt in that game. Yeah the Saints D is bad, but he's still a ROOKIE playing against exotic schemes behind a cardboard OL. He's the real deal; I justhope Tennessee doesn't ruin him by hiring Kule Shannahan.
Who cares.... when Bryce Petty ends his apprenticeship, we will have it made. It's a sure thing baby!
Stop it. If you're 6-4 and have a shot at the playoffs, go for it. If you're 1-7 with zero shot and Marcus Mariota in your sights, don't be a fool. _
Whoa whoa whoa. I LOVED McNabb at Syracuse. Never thought he'd be a great pro. Way way too inaccurate. Don't confuse my Syracuse homerism with my Jet homerism. Didn't want Nassib either as great as he was for us. _
Btw, I didn't want to lose a single game in 2012 because the 2013 QB class sucked. Would have traded both our picks in 2013 for 2 picks in 2014. Wanted to lose as many games as possible in 2013. Wanted a QB in that 2014 class. We'd be set had we taken Teddy or Carr in 2014. _
He could be. But I still think the odds are stacked against him due to the team he's playing for and the fact that the type of QB he is , eventually gets figured out no matter how much pure talent he has. Maybe he is smarter than guys like RG3 and Kap , which could make him a very good QB , but only time will tell with that. But would we not have traded our entire draft for Kaepernick 2 years ago? Nowadays not so much. Lots of teams thought they had their QB of the future not so long ago. And those same teams are now looking ahead to having someone different under center very soon. It would not shock me if 3 years from now, Mariota is not playing in Tennessee anymore.
I never said Mariota played like RG3. I only said that like RG3 (and Geno, and Luck, and Kaep, and the kid in Buffalo and the kid in Tampa and every other recent QB), once defenses have something to look at they will shut/slow them down. Just like how a back up QBs can do REALLY good for a game or two. Then it's curtains.
So we'd have about 12 teams 'lose' their last 10 games and all end up 2-14. That's the way it should work.
Funny you posted this. I started a thread in 2013 wanting to trade our ENTIRE draft to Cleveland for their entire 2014 draft (plus a few future 1sts). We'd keep Sheldon b/c he was an xtra pick, but we'd have lost Milliner and Geno for dbl picks in 2014. Of course I got crucified for even suggesting we give up our draft, but in hindsite we would be winning the next 5 SBs if we had done it! And Geno would be on someone else's team.
you don't think there were 12 teams last year that would have LOVED a shot at a top QB prospect? All they have to do is lose all their games.
I would have done that. I wrote a letter to that piece of shit Idzik imploring him to trade our 2013 picks for 2014 picks so we could take Teddy, Carr or Marcus (who ended up not coming out). _
