thanks, my moultrie is horrible with the wind. seems like its too sensitive and no settings to dial it down. i've filled up 16g cards in a matter of days with the nearest plant over 20 yards away.
I had big issues with photos of nothing on my moultrie. One thing you have to be careful of is to point north or south and not east or west. I was pointing west and the sunset caused a lot of nothing shots. I had better luck when I re positioned it, but the stealths are still way better.
looking at the temperature on the photo and yesterdays hourly temps it seems he was there between 6am and noon - obviously it's good and light so I'm thinking between 8-12. I've missed two Saturday mornings since the season started, yesterday being one of them. doh!
watched a little of the game but the tree stand was calling. went to the farm in 3m because i have a camera i wanted to check. had a close encounter with a big boy. he came to 35 yards but wouldn't give me the shot. he took every correct step to stay out of a lane.this is him
If you could only use guns during bow season. These deer aren't as dumb as they look. That second says it's private (can't watch).
Oooof stingy bastard. Looks like he took a shit in front of your camera lmao. Dare he do that when you're packing powder.
its amazing how they stay just out of harms way, but that's how they get big and that's the challenge of bowhunting. my brother had an encounter with him tuesday morning, so we're close.
Seems crazy to me I hadn't seen a single buck on camera all year and then this old boy comes out of no where. Biggest buck I've seen in the area since we moved here a few years ago. Hopefully he's in the area for a while and not just a one night stand. lol. I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait till Saturday to get back out there now. Might have to hit the boss up for a day off.
i'm looking at friday. put the kids on the bus and sit the rest of the day, 10-2 is a good time to be in the stand. bucks are moving from bedding area to bedding area checking for a hot doe. that farm hasn't shown a buck all summer either. now between me and my brother we have 3 encounters with a big buck in the last week
managed to get tomorrow off. can't stop think about that buck. it would be the nicest one i ever got if i landed him. Hoping he's hunkered down in the nearby beds with a doe. I'm between food, beds and pond. c'mon down boy
saw a little four pointer and a bunch of does today but no shots available. starting to see a lot of rubs, so I guess that's good. didn't see the big boy and no more shot of him on the trail cams. looks like it's just Saturday and Sunday left for me before gun opens the following weekend. starting to think I may get shut out bow season. even if I do I learned a lot. before this year I never did anything other than grab a gun, go find a tree to lean on and hope a deer walks by. best thing I did this year is scout out a sweet spot and assuming things don't change drastically and I don't get one w the bow when gun opens in pretty sure we'll be able to fill the freezer. last year I never even heard a deer in the woods. this year I see deer almost every time I go out.
you still get 10 days after gun season closes, of course its colder and the woods are pretty shot up but if you are close to a food source you can get a shot. good luck this weekend. harness up the winds are going to be up this weekend
