In Genos defense, he is getting better at managing the press and answering questions. Here is a Q&A today. He doesnt get baited and answers properly, though the headline makes it seem like he is complaining and pouting. Not the case and not fair to him. Hopefully he is maturing. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/11/jets_geno_smith_says_its_not_a_relief_for_me_that.html
2nd best news on the injury front. glad we keep the continuity going but i would trade fitz being healthy for mangold being healthy.
As soon as Fitz fumbles a few times everybody will be calling for him to get benched. How he going to protect the ball with 2 hands? Hell people will just slap at his left hand on purpose. I would be saying the same thing if it was Geno. It going to affect Fitz a lot.
Yup, and watch how many times the Jag's defense take cheap shots at Fitz's thumb. They won't even go for the ball.
Both Kurt Warner and Carson Palmer had the same injury and played with it with no problems. Palmer went on to win a pro bowl bid and take his team into the playoffs with the injury. I'm not worried about it. History is in his favor in regards to this injury
We haven't dodged shit,he needs surgery which means he can get rehurt very easily ,if the pain gets bad enough it will effect everything he does.Id be surprised if he plays the entire game
This is false, as stated by multiple QBs that dealt with the exact same injury. It's a learning curve to handoff with his right hand rather than his left, but with that glove, he will be fine. His left hand will not affect his throwing motion and it will be padded enough to not bother him getting pushed around. This isn't just made up shit. This is coming from two QBs who played with the same injury, both of which had great success
Niether of those guys are as injury prone as Ryan Fitzpatrick......Let's not forget he broke his leg last season on........you guessed it a play where he scrambled and started running.Jets fans forget about this injury for some reason...Smart moneys on him scrambling and getting hurt again. He's done it twice in less then a year
that could happen after every snap but it has nothing to do with his thumb. there are good examples of qbs playing at high levels with this injury.
so he his thumb is different the other human thumbs?i don't understand what you think the problem is. they are able to wrap and pad the hand so he can take snaps from under center, he has to adjust his left handed hand offs, end of story.
The only thing worse than being wrong in a LIB thread is actually agreeing with him, and now I'm doing both in the span of a week or two. The likelihood of Fitz getting injured in this game is probably up in the 80 percentile, we'll either have a very injured Mangold or that other turd. Everything is going wrong right now, and the probability of a QB with thumb ligament damage either totally screwing the game up or getting injured is like a gambler's dream. Don't fool yourself, this team entered desperation mode in the first quarter against the Raiders. And then we have Geno to look forward to.
