We don't know what goes on behind the scenes or what kind of confidence the CS has in Geno. Do you realize how few snaps Geno has probably taken since his injury? He has a lot of rust on top of his other issues. I don't blame them at all for being more conservative and not opening things up. This was one game. If their approach was to keep Geno in some semblance of control and prevent TOs in hopes that Geno's confidence could grow and his teammates confidence in him could grow, so that he will play better in the next several games while Fitz is out, then I understand and applaud it. With Geno's TO history, nothing would have been gained by having him become so aggressive and wind up throwing a bunch of interceptions and/or fumbling the ball. Even with Mangold healthy and playing, they simply don't have the QB, the OL or the RB depth to play that aggressively. The Jets' best chances of winning games this year is for the offense to not turn the ball over and the D shut opponents down.
Bryce Petty is taking first team reps this week. The Petty era might begin a little earlier then expected.
Bowles said that his confidence level was not very high that either will be able to play on Sunday...he said it's monday though and that they are both pretty sore, just one day after the game....said he will have a better idea on Wed after they both take snaps. Going to get Bryce reps with first team...said we are definitely bringing in another backup.
Yeah, attack my football knowledge because you choose to be delusional. We've been blown out by decent/good teams and have had close games against bad teams.(Mccown was on his way to torching us before he got injured btw) Bowles has no clue about clock management and our talent on defense is what's keeping us above 500., not his coaching. We have 4 legit threats at wr which most teams can't say they have. We have a runningback that is playing like one of the top 5 runningbacks in the league, an offensive line that is playing above what was expected of them and even with all of that we are a below average offense and predictable. Whenever we play aggressively, we look like a playoff sleeper team but our gutless coaching and clueless clock management makes us look like a team that just wants to not lose badly instead of a team looking to dominate the other team. Our defense seems to be unraveling before our eyes and if this continues, then every point you're using to defend our horrible coaching staff goes right out the window.
Yeah, right. I'm delusional. ROFLMAO Dude, you need to go back to wherever you've been the first 7 weeks of the season. You are clueless. Blown out? Right. He's a rookie HC and never had to deal with the clock before. While his handling of the clock is disappointing and definitely needs improving, he has done so much else right that he gets a pass on clock management for now. Your comments about the D talent keeping us above .500 and not Bowles coaching is laughable. You are removing any doubt from any of our minds about how little you understand/know about football. Who do you think devised the schemes and put the players in a position to succeed? It doesn't matter if we had 10 legit threats at WR. We don't have one topflight QB, unless Petty develops into one. Fitz is a placeholder, a JAG, who has played much better than expected, but doesn't have the arm or ability to be aggressive and succeed or carry the team. Our top 5 RB has been banged up and hasn't done jack shit the last 2 weeks. We have no depth there if you haven't noticed. So tell me, in your great wisdom and knowledge, how do play so aggressively on offense, when your top 2 QBs are mediocre, have a penchant for throwing interceptions, your OL is meh, your TEs flat out suck, you have little or no depth at RB, your starting RB plays in a way in which he gets banged up a lot, you don't have a RB on the roster who can take it the distance from anywhere on the field, and your #1 WR has made about as many drops and bonehead plays as he has great plays? How do you play so aggressively when you have no pass rush without blitzing because you don't have a starting OLB worth a damn, one of your ILBs can't tackle and the other is slower than molasses, and your punter and STs suck? If the Jets played the way you want them to, they'd probably be 0-7 and you'd be whining and bitching that they were being too aggressive.
I have to agree with this 100%. A simple and recent example is Dolphins pre Philbin and Dolphins post Philbin.
We are a Jaguars loss away from the "Should we have hired Dan Quinn?" thread that someone will rush to make
What annoyed me the most was a 3rd and 20 draw play that Gailey called with under 3 minutes left.....I think that's when he called it ,I wanted to vomit
