Like him or not, Geno played hard despite some mental lapses. We got to go with him for now and hope for the best. Not a Geno fan, but he is the best we got. Bryce as much as I d like to see him is not ready. If we were 1-6 , 2-6 then yeah play Bryce like we have nothing to lose. Being 4-3, still on top for playoffs, we got to roll with him and hope OVERALL the team executes and win some games. Putting totally on Geno is quite unfair when we got some issues with D, and special teams.
if you ever need definitive proof that QBR is the shittiest measurement of a QBs performance your post confirms it. I've been called a Geno Smith defender in the past but that game WAS an abomination from Geno Smith. The lack of awareness from him was just astounding. I can deal with mistakes being made at the position but not a lack of professionalism
It's hard to comprehend how someone who's been playing football his whole life, most at the highest level of the sport, can have such little awareness of what's going on around him on the field. How can he be so oblivious to the amount of time left in the game and run backwards losing yardage, fail to get out of bounds or throw the ball away to stop the clock, and so on. Things that make you want to break everything around you.
This team isn't scoring 34 points with no running game or forced turnovers. Our offensive output was in line yesterday with what we would have gotten with Fitz. You can't call 265 yards and 2 TDs an abomination when Fitz was praised for those performances earlier in the year. No one is saying he didn't make some ugly mistakes late in the game, but the game was already way out of hand and Geno was not going to singlehandedly save the day. The complaining is just silly. If Fitz is out, Geno is the starter. Better hope he plays well/improves rather than bash the guy at every opportunity. The hatred for this player is disproportionate to how he played, I'm sorry, no objective person reading these posts could come to any other conclusion.
Geno made plays yesterday and only one turnover on a deep ball. It's hard to say what would have happened if the defense had kept us in the game. They were the ones who lost it. If you ask me what I think: he would have blown it. I never had any confidence in him and was always surprised when he made a good play. I'm always expecting the worst with him. And usually you get it. But he deserves a start against Jax.
Geno did his thing yesterday. You guys give fitz a pass for throwing a pick or 2 but when Geno does it you guys make a 100 page thread about how awful Geno is... Geno played well. At the end of the game the whole damn team looked confused from the coaching staff to the o-line to the QB. So miss me with that Geno sucks shit. He played a good game yall just love to hate him. Fitz would not have won that game. Our defense got destroyed point blank and Todd Bowles punted them the ball one too many times in 4 down territory. Also, Chan Gailey... bruh.. why you calling deep routes on 3rd and short and short routes on 3rd and long? WTF is that shit? Terribly coached game, Terrible defense, terrible tackling. This game was on bowles. If you blaming Geno you need to go watch another sport b/c you don't understand how this game works clearly.
As far as some of Geno's mental errors go... he's gotta do better. Theres no excuse for running backwards sometimes i think he forgets he's allowed to run lol. And his famous running out of bound behind the LOS is still hilarious b/c he still does it.
we don't win that game with Fitzpatrick. the defense was horrible. but that's besides the point. Geno Smith played like an idiot yesterday. Its not bashing the guy at every opportunity, its bashing him for what he deserves. Its not personal or anything .If Fitzpatrick played with such a lack of professional situational awareness I'd be on him too but he doesn't .
why are your posts always like this? a bunch of rambling generalized nonsense that appear to make one argument but you finish with a sentence of no basis making the opposite argument out of the blue. "geno smith played badly yesterday. if you ask me he is bad. I think he would've lost the game if the defense had kept it close anyway. I never thought he was good because he's bad.... but he deserves the start next week."
I don't find that hilarious at all. it pisses me off. man maybe I need to get back to smoking the reefer or something.
And your's are good ones. What were you saying that is so brilliant. Why don't you just put me on ignore. It will save you a lot of grief.
EXACTLY....... but you say "Geno played well"? Hilarious in a "tragic comedy" way? Because I thought it was embarassing....... Yeah, for a moment he looked like he knew what he was doing, but Those 4th qtr brainfarts were some of the most retarded things I've seen on the football field.
See.. i smoke while i watch it lol. It was garbage time though so i wasn't even mad. Bowles was calling draw plays on 3rd & 20 with no timeouts left ...so clearly we werent in it to win it.
Can't say i'd disagree. And you know how sometimes shit is so bad instead of crying you just laugh it off? Yeah... Bowles did it the whole first half. Had that stupid ass smirk on his face as we let up like 21 points in 5 minutes lol.
pretty much what i was going to say. same exact geno.... a string of good throws surrounded by his usual idiotic plays taking 8 yard sacks when he is alreayd outside the pocket and can throw it away. and he did it twice when he took the sack when we needed the clock to stop with under 4 minutes to go. just 0 awareness of the situation. then being careless forcing the ball into double and triple coverage trying to make hero plays. the interception was an underthrown ball forced to marshall into 2 defenders, almost had a second doing the same thing a few drives later. he simply isnt an option, because at some point in the game he is going to make a backbreakingly poor decision that costs you a chance at the game. like him taking those sacks instead of throwing it away. cost us 1 minute on the clock and 15 yards and on one of them it pushed us too far to w here we couldnt go for it on 4th down
who cares if he played hard? if you want someone to play hard go sign rudy rudiger. "playing hard" might get you buy at fullback or special teams. but not at QB. we need to sign someone or hope fitz can play witht he injury. otherwise with geno or petty we have 0 chance to make the playoffs. especially losing the H2H tiebreaker with oakland
