The "wide open" touchdown to Enunwa was a pretty soft play by Fitz. He started bracing for the hit before it was even there, if he steps into that throw he gets lit up but it's still a 70 yard touchdown and completely worth it. That's why the word "pocket toughness" is brought up so frequently in draft evaluations.
well, there was a blatant miss of a PI call on marshall in the endzone. fitz doesnt have a deep arm. gailey shouldnt be designing those type of throws for him out of clear passing sets. those need to come out of deception or formations where the run is a threat. 5 wide with the defenders knowing a pass is coming is not going to yield results. when we have gone play action on longer routes we have had more success. we arent going to win by game planning for fitz to light it up.
true, although it could have been worse. sproles dropped a sure touchdown. and overall, our D looked pretty average. we got no pressure on them.
My point is none of the references this guy you are claiming as a great follow or read is very credible and is your opinion. and anyone can still write for bleacher report. If it was so respected I think they would limit the number of fans writing bs crap. Quote ESPN, the times crap even the daily news and you would have a point here not so much. So If you see below this how we call can write and submit articles saying who sucks and bleacher report will publish them free of charge if the content manager happens to agree with you that day You have to email Bleacher Report at newwriters@bleacherreport.com. In your email include a link to your Bleacher Report profile. Here's my Bleacher Report profile link: http://bleacherreport.com/users/315456-j... In your email you send them your article. Fitz is clearly not good but Geno hasn't been good either. I'd say we have to give Fitz another couple of shots, if he plays terribly then its time to send him to the bench and roll the dice.
This is so true. It's also why I have no time for the "Chan Gailey is da bomb OC" threads. It seems like Gailey is just using his scheme and his playbook, and not really gameplanning for what the Jets can do.
Any OC for the Jets would see the best game plan as one centered around Ivory pounding the ball. And having a Qb who limits mistakes. Last year we couldn't really ascertain how much Marty was on board starting Smith, who did not and cannot limit mistakes. Was it the FO calling that? Now that we have a CS and FO with no ties to Smith's selection, Gailey is free to play to the second part of the plan. It's not rocket science.
Looks like we're between a rock and a hard place. Our script for this season has already been written. Run the ball effectively and limit turnovers. Geno talents(?) give us no advantage in that scenario. Funny...usually a qb controversy involves two good quarterbacks.
Threads like this crack me up. Do we not remember last year. We won 4 friggen games. Now we are 2-1 could have been 3-0 and we are arguing about average qb play. We have half as many wins in 3 weeks as we did all of last year. You cant fix everything over night and from where i am sitting bowles has fixed alot. This team could end the season with a winning record and could be a playoff team. Jesus i am not saying that should be good enough but it certainly should be good enough for 1 year.
I think the theory is the D stopped trying when Geno went in. Maybe the D doesn't care about being embarrassed as long as as they can prove the Geno haters right.
Average QB play will not cut it in this league, stop drafting fucking overrated defensive linemen and defensive backs and draft someone like Gurley, Mike Evans, Matt Ryan, trade up for a guy like Mariotta, throw the farm for him. Do SOMETHING besides getting "best talent on the board" that just always happens to be another overrated defensive end or d-back.
The D stopped trying when they got off the plane. The defensive showing was absolutely pathetic from the opening kickoff. The tackling was non-existent. The Jets were already down 21-3 when Geno came in.
You are correct that the D stopped trying when they got off the plane but before you get ripped by some of the moronic posters here Geno came in when the game was 0-0. Regardless, he didn't have any part in getting abused by Carr and Murray.
