Brees posts are amusing. Matt Flynn suiting up in green is not.

The defense was awful and the people on this board are hammering Smith. Actually he wasn't bad. He can do the job if he is given some practice time. That nonsense about calling for a replacement during the game is really silly. Not having your backup ready is poor coaching. Most of the comments on this board are of frustration not analysis. Time to step back and get ready for next week.

If Fitzpatrick is seriously injured and we are definitely making a move Mettenberger, Glennon, and McCoy are realistic trade options. As badly as the fans here want the FO to destroy any chance Petty has of becoming a solid #2 QB they aren't going to do that, he's not ready.

The Smith hate comes from the idiotic sacks he took for no good reason when all he had to do was flick it out of bounds. Overall he had some good drives, but still missed wide open receivers throwing high and made mistakes you would expect a rookie to make, not a guy in his third year. He's dumb, honestly he may not know that outside the pocket he can just throw it away, I'm being serious, he may not be aware that it's actually an option.

A decent drive here or there doesn't negate the dumb shit he consistently does all the time, he's not getting it and never will.

I watched the Redzone and saw many QB's do some strange things. Your personal dislike of this player distorts your analysis.

If other QBs jumped off a bridge, would Geno follow suit?

This. If our d would of made some stops we could of won even with Geno at qb.

Getting another qb now wouldn't be a good idea bc they wouldn't know the offense and no chemistry with WRs. Flynn would be the only logical signing

No, some people are simpletons and IMO a lot of it is racially motivated. It's a lot easier to spew hate than it is to analyze and critique.

Bullshit. Show me where anyone is saying Geno can't play because he's black. Geno can't play because he doesn't have the football IQ to make good decisions with the football.

No one criticizes Fitz for all of his mental errors, we just get to here about how dumb Geno is, low IQ, lazy, etc. Words racists have been using for years now.

The fact that Fitz has thrown as many INTs through 6 games as Geno did in last year's first 6 games, or that the dude is 30 something years old playing QB most of his life now and still can't figure out how to slide, that throwing into double and triple coverage constantly is probably a bad idea. Geno made some mistakes, that's obvious. The absolute hatred this fan base has for a QB who was tossed in to the game too soon and still won 8 games, and a whole team meltdown last season and then coming off the bench with few practice reps with the starters. All the vile language used, it goes way beyond thinking the guy is a bad QB. There's some other element to it. I thought Jets fans were mostly vicious assholes when Sanchez was playing poorly but it turns out it was only the beginning. These are the "fans" that cheered Chad Pennington's injury.

Some halfwit posted in another thread that "the defense gave up as soon as Geno came in". Geno played a hell of a lot better than anyone on the defense did and you all want to sit here talking shit about Geno. This game was an embarrassment. I'd like better QB play but I have much higher expectations for the defense than the third year back up QB. Just be glad we didn't spend a first round pick on EJ Manuel.

I'm black and I think Geno is a mental midget when it comes to football IQ.

Ok, his situational awareness is not very good at all but he seemed to go through his reads better than what I've seen from Fitz and less throws into double coverage than Fitz. It's not even a question of whether Geno is dumb or not, or whether you're black or not, it's that there is a significant portion of this fanbase that says vile things about one of our players who hasn't met expectations or has made mistakes, in a way that I haven't seem them attack other players that have made similar or worse mistakes. The level of hatred these people have for a fucking back up QB like he killed their children is pathetic.

Geno has a low football IQ. He's making the same mistakes he's consistently made his entire career here. Geno playing better than the defense is an invalid point, it in no way excuses his lack of progression as a player.

    To quote myself:
Poor play is going to bring the hate. Penny got hated on, Sanchez got hated on, Geno gets hated on. Fitz gets hated on (less so because he just got here). Petty will get hated on if he starts and shits the bed. None of that is related to the color of their skin.

You've got some fucked up ideas about the people who post here. Take a look in the mirror, check yourself and realize it's not what you think or get the fuck out.

I don't fault you for bringing up the race angle, it definitely can be an insidious thing. But I think in this case most posters are just reacting to what they see on the field. I know I am. Who among us wouldn't take Wilson or Bridgewater in a heartbeat, and not because they are "natural athletes" or any of that bs but because we all see they are talented smart football players.
