Geno took two voluntary coverage sacks by holding onto the ball longer than any sane QB would. He actually gave up extra yards by dodging out of bounds on the first one angling towards his own goal. How often do we need to see him have literally zero understanding of what to do when the protection has broken down and a player is bearing down on him before we accept the fact that he just doesn't have a clue what to do in that situation? This is year three. He's still making stupid rookie mistakes out there.
Wow wow wow. Now I am drunk and upset as anyone else on this board but for a second to blame Gailey for this shitstorm is completely unfocused. This lose hangs on Bowles and the defense alone
Fitz is the smartest guy on the Jets IQ wise but he has made dumb mistakes for a Vet. However Bowles should man up and threaten to fine him if he insists on being a martyr and get himself injured without taking a slide
Fitz has torn ligaments in his hand, he'll need surgery more than likely effectively ending his season and tenure with the Jets.
You're absolutely right that Fitzpatrick is more responsible for this loss than anybody else. He got hurt fighting for a useless yard that meant nothing. He was 5 yards past the 1st down marker and could easily have slid at that point and averted the contact.
And to add a little to that. He looked less than thrilled about playing today. You would think a guy that has taken the beaten , both emotionally and physically that he has , would atleast be a little more enthused about possibly being a starting QB in the NFL again. Fitz has torn ligaments btw. He'll be out awhile.
Yeah those were boneheaded plays. It should be apparent that different QBs have different strengths and weaknesses. He also converted a 4th and 19 and placed the ball right where Marshall should've caught it at the goal line, things Fitz couldn't do in the Pats game. It's easy to sit at home wailing on the internet about how stupid a player is when you don't have a first-time center and a gassed o-line letting people fly right into your face for the entire 4th quarter. I thought Geno played well FOR THE MOST PART. He had a few bad plays but ultimately he came a lot closer to winning this game for us then he did losing it for us. The defense, on the other hand...dear god what was that I just watched.
Five kids and a degree from Harvard? No problem The guy will milk his investments and end up on Wall Street a hero
Maybe he finds work as a back up somewhere next year. I could never stand Fitz when he was with the bills. I admire his grit and his experience is valuable. Hopefully some of that has rubbed off on Petty because Geno certainly hasn't learned shit.
What? Fitzpatrick wouldn't have done any better than Geno did out there, we saw his attempt at a comeback last week. This team is built to play with a lead, the defense sucked it's a high salary conglomerate of all stars that couldn't stop a nosebleed for three and a half quarters. The defense let Oakland run all over them.
Well, now is the time to either 95% waste Bryce Petty by throwing him on the field way too early or trade for a veteran QB. Watching Geno all year is going to drive us nuts.
Jets fans... Change the culture of this fan base already. Every year there is so many fans that just stop thinking, just post shit out of emotion. Be a thinker OP. Come on... It's one game. The game planning has been great, the adjustments have been great, with the exception of this game. Calm down.
Actually, we are 4-3. We lost to a bad Eagles team, a big divisional game against NE and then followed it up against a wild card contender that now has the tiebreaker on us in Oakland. It's more than 1 game. We just aren't very good......again.
Seriously its like a Giants fan pissed in their cereal bowl in middle school and they never got over it. Racist ass, bipolar ass, deluded ass fans that can't have a normal, healthy reaction to anything- win, loss, coach fired, ownership change. Nothing can be reasoned with these people. It's embarrassing.
